Shameless Self-Post: One year ago today I took a $30 bus to New York City. 3 blizzards, 5 apartments, 9 metro cards, 12 jobs, 10 books, 4 awkward celebrity interactions, 3 "$1 to my name" moments, and infinite cups of coffee later, I now understand why people congratulate you on one year in NY like it's a wedding anniversary. Stuttering

August 2017 has come and gone. It caps-off a surreal, frantic, and volatile period of time since we began working on our follow-up magazine in August of 2016.

Personal projects are an unparalleled source of life and fulfillment, and we thank everyone who has supported Shiny Car from the beginning. Unfortunately, income, housing, and sanity are occasionally more pressing sources of life. To say those endeavors have sucked up all of our attention over the past year would be an understatement, and as a result "August" remains in broken bits and pieces as the cool fall breeze returns to rustle our trees.

The pieces will not stay there forever though. With the fall comes a settling, and with settling comes time to pick-up tiny pieces, slouch over them with glue in hand and coffee in face, and make something pretty for the sun to shine on when she returns from her holidays.

And on that day, we too will return. Until then, we thank you for your patience and understanding.
