The relief you feel when your spiderling finally resurfaces after weeks or months of burrowing 😭

The cyriocosmus elegans graduated from vial housing! They're now three times the size from left to right, I'm so proud. (All three of my crew were/are spiderlings, but this one was so tiny I was a bit panicked) This species leans fossorial, so I wasn't surprised or worried when they immediately burrowed into oblivion for weeks, but it's still a relief when they surface for food orz

My first, a brachypelma hamorii, sheltered a whole winter once, but never hides anymore now that he's juvenile bless him he's a good spider. Hue also molted just last night but didn't come out unscathed >< His front left leg is one joint short. He gets to be a pirate until next molt, I guess. Shouldn't be an issue for him, but something to monitor why it happened.

The aphonopelma chalcodes is also due for a molt soon, and has been mostly hanging out in a burrow where I can see, so that's been nice and considerate of them ^^;
