"Isn't that why you and yours walk these lonely paths avenging? Revenging? Just...venging in general?" I love you, Jack.
Alright I powered through ANOTHER entire podcast because I have far too much listening time in my day. I know that every other post on here is asking for podcast recs but for real. I love Magnus Archives and Protocol, I just caught up to The White Vault, I'm caught up on Old Gods of Appalachia, I will do Re: Dracula next year again. On the complete opposite end of things I am obsessed with/caught up with Maintenance Phase, You're Wrong About, and If Books Could Kill. Please if y'all see these and think there's a related one that I would like tell me. I also liked The Dream but only the first season. Oh and I'm listening to Camlann but obviously that's brand new.
Okay I just spent way too long compiling recs and finding official descriptions for all of them, so here they are for me and anyone else who was interested! Also, before that, I really do recommend Camlann (@camlannpod) and a large portion of these recs came from them! Audio drama and horror up first, and this is under a readmore cause it's freakin long (yay!)
The Night Post - The Night Post is an audio drama podcast about the conscripted couriers of a city at odds with the ancient, arcane frontier that surrounds it. What begins as Miloās search for his missing husband becomes the couriersā journey to save themselves and uncover the secrets of the organization that chose them.
Vast Horizon - Dr. Nolira Eck doesnāt know why the Bifrost is empty. But the missing crew is the least of her current problems. The ship is falling apart around her and her new life is slowly fading from reach. Discover a new future, bright and dark. How far would you go for another chance?
Station Blue - Desperate to find meaning in his life, troubled Matthew Leads takes a job as the caretaker of an Antarctic Research Facility. An atmospheric isolation horror following his struggles with mental illness, a broken heart and the suffocating presence of Station Blue. (Described in rec as āexcellent Arctic horrorā)
The Deca Tapes ā Recordings have surfaced of ten people that are locked into the same space together. We donāt know where they are, or if they'll get out. But the answers must be somewhere on these tapes. (Looks like a second season is in progress; described in rec as āfound footage vibesā)
The Blood Crow Stories ā The Blood Crow Stories is an anthology horror audio drama podcast, telling a new tale of terror every season. Our first season explores the doomed cruise ship S.S. Utopia, our second season visits the old west town of Blackchapel plagued by a serial killer, and our third season takes a look into the future as demons invade The Neon Lodge. (First two seasons were specifically recommended)
Sinkhole ā A very normal podcast about data restoration, wireless neural interfacing, and why you really shouldnāt bring your tapes anywhere near the Hole. (Described in rec as ādata archiving + horrorā)
The Grotto ā Struck by a recent loss, Matt turns to spelunking for solace. As Matt battles grief, he questions if the caves are playing tricks or if something else lurks within. The Grotto is a liminal horror podcast that explores the thin line between grief, pain, mourning, and loss. (Described in rec as ācave horrorā)
Archive 81 ā Archive 81 is a found footage horror podcast about ritual, stories, and sound. (From rec: āobvious but obvious for a reason, it's excellent!ā)
The Sheridan Tapes ā In 2018, famed horror writer Anna Sheridan disappeared, leaving behind only a box of mysterious cassette tapes. Detective Sam Bailey is tasked with piecing together what happened to Anna Sheridan from the seemingly impossible encounters she recorded, but as the scattered pieces of the puzzle come together, Bailey discovers that the picture is even stranger ā and more dangerous ā than it seemed. (From rec: āis also super similar to TMA. (Like, it's wild)ā)
Hi Nay - Hi Nay, literally translated to āHi Momā, is a supernatural horror fictional podcast about Filipina immigrant Mari Datuin, whose babaylan (shaman) family background accidentally gets her involved in stopping dangerous supernatural events in Toronto.
The Mistholme Museum of Mystery, Morbidity, and Mortality - Hello, and welcome to the Mistholme Museum of Mystery, Morbidity, and Mortality. The Audio Tour Guide will be your window into the history of the museum and its exhibits today. Please note, that if you notice your version of the Audio Tour Guide behaving oddly, kindly ensure that you dispose of your Audio Device in the nearest incinerator at the earliest convenience.
The Cellar Letters ā After a series of traumatic events, including losing his job, Nate and his dog Bella move across country to the East Coast. Nate documents the whole process, as he seeks to try something new and have a fresh start. The new house appears perfect: huge, loads of room, a yard for Bella to run in⦠and the rent is unbelievably low. But thereās something not quite right. The house feels⦠off. Knocking noises in the nighttime, and a locked room in the basement, filled with letters about strange occurrences and ghostly figures. Who wrote the letters? And why are they all stored in the cellar? Join Nate, his dog, and his friend Steve as they search for answers.
Fawx & Stallion ā Behind the doors of 221B Baker Street, the greatest detective of all time and his loyal doctor friend solve some of the most befuddling, prestigious, glamorous, and exciting cases the public has ever seen, turning themselves into legends in the process. Across the street and slightly to the left, behind the doors of 224B, lives another pair of detectives, waiting for their chance in the spotlight. And when Holmes and Watson leave town on a case, and a woman shows up at their doorstep in dire straits, that very chance appears⦠(Only one with two separate recs)
Inc: the Podcast ā Bethany and Jonas are two pencil-pushing aliens living and working on a company ship that incorporates whole planets by the dozen, tasked with organizing all of the data that is recovered from said planets. They get through the endless days by occasionally adding meaningful stories that they discover to the Extraneous But Interesting folder, all the while navigating the complex web that is friendship and life in this corpo-futuristic nightmare.
The Silt Verses ā The Silt Verses is a full-cast audio drama that lurks in the grey area between horror and contemporary fantasy. Carpenter and Faulkner, worshippers of an outlawed god, are travelling up the length of their deityās great black river, searching for holy revelations amongst the reeds and the wetlands. In these forgotten rural territories, new and strange gods of have flourished and Carpenter and Faulker must navigate this world of ritual, hidden language, and sacrifice. As they find themselves under threat from a police manhunt, the question remains: just how deep does their faith run?
Gastronaut ā Cooking and culture, intrigue and debt. Follow food journalist Oscar Yasui on a relativistic road trip. Gastronaut is a narrative science fiction podcast about a food journalistās galactic misadventures.

Uncanny Valley ā When anyone asks Audrey why she moved to Alaska, she tells them for a fresh start. But a lot of the people in Alaska are hiding from something. And Audrey is no different. When she journeyed to Alaska, she found something even more dangerous. Maybe we feel the uncanny valley because long ago, we had to fear something that pretended to be human.
The Kingmaker Histories ā On the 19th of February, 1911, in the Valorian Socialist Republic, an assistant tailor named Colette Geise experienced a migraine that ruined her life. This is a historical account of what happened next. Description from rec: Audio drama following a college course about an ancient civilization that, by all accounts, did not and could not exist. Conspiracies abound.)
More related to Maintenance Phase/Youāre Wrong About/If Books Could Kill:
Ologies ā Volcanoes. Trees. Drunk butterflies. Mars missions. Slug sex. Death. Beauty standards. Anxiety busters. Beer science. Bee drama. Take away a pocket full of science knowledge and charming, bizarre stories about what fuels these professional -ologists' obsessions. Humorist and science correspondent Alie Ward asks smart people stupid questions and the answers might change your life.
American Hysteria ā American Hysteria explores how fantastical thinking has shaped our culture ā moral panics, urban legends, hoaxes, crazes, fringe beliefs, and national misunderstandings. Poet-turned-podcaster Chelsey Weber-Smith tells the strangest stories from American history and examines the forces that create the reality we share, and sometimes, the reality we don't. (I know I should love this but Chelsey has one of the worst cases of Podcast Voice Iāve ever heard and Iām trying to get over my dislike so I can listen to what I am sure is fantastic content)
Decoder Ring ā Decoder Ring is the show about cracking cultural mysteries. In each episode, host Willa Paskin takes a cultural question, object, or habit; examines its history; and tries to figure out what it means and why it matters.
New Episode of The CryptoNaturalist Podcast
