i have this imaginary enemy called gary who is hypercritical of me. he speaks with the voice of broden kelly putting it on a bit. he is upset that i didn't call this fic 'like a prayer', for the symmetry. i keep trying to explain to gary that the themes of the song 'like a prayer' are not super relevant to this story but he keeps screaming "THE SYMMETRY!" at me

i wrote the scene where sam sits on the floor instead of the sofa before chi posted to his story about sitting on the floor instead of the sofa and when i saw it i was like 😱

sam obviously* (*if you read the rest of the series) has pakistani heritage but i think maybe his dad or someone was iranian hence knowing about the huma bird. idk though you'd have to ask him. he might just have had a book about it as a kid

in case anyone is wondering about the cat scene, sam is not scoping out whether ian will let him get a cat when they live together. that is like a wild fantasy which sam is barely letting himself indulge in at this point. he's just checking to make sure that ian is not going to point and laugh and call him a sissy for liking cats. he's PRETTY sure that ian would not do that but better safe than sorry

this is the third time i've written sam carrying ian up the stairs i'm pretty sure (one still in my WIPs but the other is in fireweed iirc, and he also picked him up in eyes of the ram). do you think i've finally got it out of my system atp or nah
