always kind of incredible to see people seemingly unable to grasp the concept of a person who's sincerely confident. even a fictional person. literally just a character

it's so funny that tumblr is the home of the sexless soft celibate freaks while also being one of the most frighteningly horny websites when it comes to perfectly innocuous media. tumblr users will see a painting of a gnarled tree and tag it "woulge." they'll see a video of a man standing in a river and say "i need to see him pinned down and struggling on it." we NEED to get these tumblrinas some pussy!

This website has an obsession with sex takes that are like 'sexuality is a very NuAnCeD complicated abstract out of this world concept that is not in any way related to actual fucking'. Which I find extremely weird even for terminally sexless people

Tumblr users will smoke one single cigarette once and then suddenly develop a superiority complex about it and start posting about how this website is sexless and drugless

tumblr users will apparently die if their posts don't include some random unnecessary jab at people who are unemployed or don't have a lot of friends or don't date or don't have sex or live their life in any way that's different to them really

Now personally i think when people say things like "coffee is also a stimulant, btw" or bringing up cigarettes or alcohol on posts about the criminilization and patholization of "drug use", the intended meaning is "you are closer to so-called 'drug users' than you would like to think you are and are only meaningfully separated from them based on arbitrary lines around the 'legality' of various substances (like alcohol)" and not "Tumblr is made up of a majority of culturally Mormon shut-in virgin losers who need public mockery and scorn"

I just think if me, the terminally sheltered grew up online HOMESCHOOLED bitch has more exposure to like. Substances. Than some Tumblr users who went to public school it's embarrassing. And I don't mean exposure as in you had to do them I mean exposure as in you think nicotine gets you high???? So you shouldn't smoke a cigarette before or during work????

ofc there are a lot of people on here who overestimate their freakdom significantly but it's not true that people who tell others to go outside and be normal on tumblr are necessarily well adjusted and able bodied. it's also not true that psych term users and therapy lovers are all privileged people with only mild depression and anxiety. you need to be able to argue against ideas without referring to anyone who embraces them (consciously or not) as necessarily sheltered or privileges because it's factually incorrect ("I've been housebound for years/spent years in the psych ward/have never held down a job and you call my ideas ableist?"). a lot of people making those points are in fact themselves in those situations or have been in the past and it's shortsighted to pretend otherwise. occasionally it's relevant to point out the ways in which someone's cushy life led to them developing their ideology but it constantly gets expanded to assuming most people with that ideology have had a cushy life which is such a non starter. as if no one with a really shitty life had ever developed reactionary ideas in response. as if those adverse experiences had the universal outcome of making everyone a committed parent hating psych hating communist

You can tell that a certain type of Tumblr user came from a pretty sheltered background, dare I say, "affluent suburbanite" background because they have developed zero immunity to scams.

searching the word 'drug' on tumblr in any capacity will expose you to some of the most sheltered puritan reactionary mormon-minded people it is humanly possible to encounter . Amish teenagers have nothing on the average tumblr user who apparently reguarly channels the ghost of nancy reagan if she worked at buzzfeed in 2013 to offer their both condescending and incredibly uninformed and ignorant take on why drug users shouldnt be allowed any bodily autonomy or to even exist in public around anybody children and asthmatics
