I think sometimes there's a disproportionate place given to revoking the biological basis of something. no biomarkers have ever been found for adhd in any study, but that's because no biomarkers can ever be found for adhd in any study, because that's not how the diagnostic process operates and because those boundaries and their workings are constantly shifting. sexuality is not innate and biologically determined, but that's often not what people whose frameworks you disagree with are arguing and its not useful to counter it along those lines. I find it more useful to engage with what mechanisms and to what degree this concept is made real but that's a question that warrants analysis and will yield a different answer for each concept

I don't think there's any non reactionary way to say that humans have always done that or that that's what humans were meant for or this is what humanity is about, even if you're talking about taking care of each other or food or telling stories or fiber arts or whatever. is every human ever doing those things or are the others less human than everyone else
