okay so we know he is DEFINITELY acting . Off. In the newest episode. Completely malleable to Monty and showing very little interest in anything else. I do like the evil Will theory and I think it makes a lot of sense ! But the biggest thing to me is how Monty and Will first met

Before their first appearance, in the maze, and before Will got progressively more pathetic ! I do think they made a deal of sorts here (whether Monty was aware of it or not. He could’ve been new to his spectre and it was unintended OR he was aware and wanted to see what it’d be like to have someone firmly under his control)

Especially when you consider this frame! Will is faced with the decision to either leave Monty or stay with him, and he’s shown bound with chains before he puts on the tough guy act. We know Will can be sassy and has “opposed” Monty before (namely the scene where he tells Ada he’s licked) but as the story goes on he gets more submissive and more dependent on Monty.

MOST IMPORTANTLY. Monty’s deal with Berenice clearly has control over her, to the point that she separates herself from the group out of fear of hurting Lenore. So I think it’s VERY possible that Will and Monty made a deal when they first met (whether it was intentional or not) and Will has been bound by it ever since and is slowly losing control over himself about it.

Okay actually oh my god William are you really just a wax doll and with each new clone you create your cognitive abilities just get worse?? Because he looks so programmed: "Monty didn't eat. Monty needs to be fed. Bread is edible".
