It’s not difficult to feel somewhat left out of the potential solar revolution if you’re not a home or property owner, but a New York State Assembly member hopes to change that.

The research team are working on using a new method to calculate PR (achieved efficiency divided by manufacturers "spec" efficiency). It's hoped this could make calculations on East-West systems more accurate. This graph shows the expected shift in PR if the new method were to be implemented depending on how many degrees from south the panel is facing.

I talk about the Solar Farm and the Microgen Database on here a lot, but did you know Sheffield Solar participates in other projects as well?
For example, check out "Solar Energy in Future Societies" - a collaborative research project based in a post-industrial town in the North of England dubbed Steel Vale. Architects, engineers, physical scientists and social scientists all work together with residents, so that residents' knowledge, expertise and needs can be taken into account when developing renewable energy technologies.
