Lucky || Shea & Sam
Sam had just been finishing up the books for the day, shooting a smile and a wave to Brett as she waddled out for the evening, leaving Sam to close. He hadn’t been expecting anyone else to walk through the door only minutes later — especially not Shea.
Then again, it was almost Valentine’s Day. She couldn’t stay gone all of February if it meant missing that one special day of love. Sam’s day might have gotten all jumbled into one big long year that he couldn’t keep track of, but he assumed that it wasn’t Valentine’s Day just yet. He was usually smothered with kisses all over his face, much to his chagrin. "You had me worried," he mocked as he reached up to squeeze her hand. "I wasn’t expecting you so early. I would have gotten you something if I had known." That was probably a lie. In the art of gift giving, nobody could compete with Shea and it was usually best to not even try. He snuck a cookie, popping one into his mouth before handing one up to her and wheeling around in his desk chair to face her with a small, lopsided grin. “How was hibernation? You feel better?”
"Aw," Shea said, tilting her head to the side a bit, "You're so sweet. Thanks for at least pretending you would get me a present." From anyone else, there probably would have been sarcasm all over that statement, but from Shea, it was genuine. She knew that Sam cared about her, and that was about all she needed. Presents were just things, even if she was the queen of giving them.
"Hibernation was very depressing," she sighed, grabbing another cookie and taking a bite before looking over his desk and then back to him, "I'm pretty proud of myself, it took less time this year than it did last year! That's improvement, right?" She paused before laughing a bit, "Though, it was funny today to see people running away from me. I think people think I'm still gonna slap santa hats on their heads. I'm actually really surprised I haven't ended up in jail or something."
She reached up and brushed her hair back over her shoulder before glancing around them and realizing that they were the last people left in here. "You're closing, huh?" she noted before turning a ridiculous grin towards him, "Does this place have security cameras because if not we should totally make out on your desk." She wiggled her brows at him before chuckling and standing up from his desk and pacing around the office. She stopped at Brett's desk and scribbled onto a sticky note before sticking it to her chair and then looking at all of her pictures.
"So, since I know you won't actually make out with me," she rolled her eyes with these words and looked to him, "What are we going to get into tonight? Think I could get you to go to Oxford Barr with me and have a few drinks and maybe even dance?!"
