Story I Heard || Dan & Sam
To say Dan was a cool uncle would be a lie. In just about everything in his life, Dan was the opposite of cool. But, he was only ten when Sam was born to Dan's older brother and his wife, so at that time, he wasn't exactly concerned with being a good uncle. And when Dan was twenty and Sam ten, Dan still wasn't all too concerned. In fact, they'd always just been more like friends that looked similar than actual family members. Dan had been the guy who bought Sam his first case of beer when he was underage.
To this day, Dan still viewed that as the coolest thing he'd ever done for his nephew.
So when Saturday came around and Dan didn't have to go into the office for once, he grabbed a case of beer and headed over to Sam's house. He let himself in without a knock of any kind and called out into the house, "Your favorite uncle is here." Okay, so maybe not favorite, but at least second place? If he could even be considered an uncle seeing as he acted more like a frat brother to Sam.
He went straight to the kitchen to stick the beer into the fridge so it would stay cold, and he was about half way done when Sam appeared. "Hey man," Dan grinned. It was like four pm on a Saturday, but Dan was in that age where he felt like he was beginning to get old and so had to stay young by drinking whenever he could (logic). He popped open two bottles and slid one across the island to Sam. "So, I was thinking we could order some pizza, drink some beer, and just catch up, sound good?" Dan asked him with a raised brow and before he could even answer, Dan raised his beer to him and answered for him, "Good."
He took a long swig off the beer before closing the fridge and walking over, wrapping an arm around Sam's shoulder and then using his other hand to ruffle his hair (Dan was still amazed at how Sam got his hair to do what it did). "So, what's been going on, man?"
