entire body loosens up at the assurance that she's sober, at least this won't look like an older male taking advantage at any point — makes him feel better to say the very least. "good— pissed?" eyes narrow down at smaller femme, hands lifting to put a barrier between them for the moment. "so, okay... what's the plan here? she does your dad so you do hers?" can't help but scoff at the idea, though he also can't help but look at a pretty thing practically throwing herself his way — after all, he's just a man. "okay, you gotta realise how insane this is?"

bailey’s sober, she was not thinking straight, but she’s definitely sober. she notices the way he places his hand in front of himself, a barrier of sorts; she doesn’t step closer, she’ll leave and try to drink to forget the embarrassment if that’s what he wants. "basically," she nodded, shrugging lightly before sighing. she closed her eyes, pinched the bridge of her nose, giving herself a second before brushing her bangs back and looking up at him. "it’s insane, just thought it would make me feel better," she nodded. "i was wrong, because i feel like shit right now"

god, he's just getting too good at fucking everything good in his life up — how is he supposed to treat someone he's supposed to hate so much in private? the whole thing is a mind screw at the best of times. "oh my god, i don't hate your guts, kitty." sighs out, hands moving to grip either of her shoulders to keep her in place whilst he ensures she'll hear him out. "maybe this is all just getting a little too complicated, yeah? — let's just call a truce." taller male leans down, hoping she'll take the invitation for a kiss. "maybe we shouldn't go, huh? — you might get actually mad at me if i have to be mean to you for the rest of the night."

"oh, by the way we cuddled up last night, i know you don’t hate my guts," she pointed out, "but you don’t have to act like you hate me when we’re alone," she mused, her eyes dropping to his hands on her shoulders, eyebrows still furrowed. "why wouldn’t we?" she asked, not leaning in for a kiss, just looking at him. "be mean to me when we’re with our friends, i know you don’t mean it, but i don’t know how to feel about it when it’s just the two of us," she said softly. she sighed, not angry, just confused. "i like you."

at his words, kitty flashed him a fake smile, eyes unamused, focusing on finishing getting ready since she had already made him wait. "into character, for god’s sake, it comes naturally to you, maybe you could get into character when you’re with me, into someone who doesn’t hate my guts, for example," she mused, taking her jacket and placing it neatly over her forearm. as he reached her, she turned to look at him. "what? am i doing things too fast now?" it was clear she was nervous, about this whole acting situation.

brows stay furrowed as she allows herself inside, shutting the door behind them and walking towards the sitting area — what on earth do they have to talk about? "no, she's not here." the elder male mumbles, arms coming to fold across his chest. "that's..." stops in his tracks, a little taken aback by sudden bold words. "yeah no, that doesn't seem like a good idea." cue the concerned dad tone. "you been drinking?"

thank god she wasn’t, bailey felt like she was everywhere at this point. she noticed the furrowed eyebrows, his arms crossed over his chest. at his words, she found herself surprised; she didn’t know if it was because he declined the offer, something that never happened to her, or because of her own words. "i’m sober," she pointed out, "i wouldn’t have driven here if i wasn’t," she added. "i’m pissed," she shrugged, "really pissed, and in my mind, that’s how i even things up."

“ come on. ” he pleads, weight shifting impatiently between the heels and balls of his feet as he watches the other getting ready. “ the hike's gonna take a day and then we've gotta find a flat spot near the mountaintop, get the tent set up before dark. ” it's for their benefit more than his, kiel feels the shift in temperatures a little more than he had done years ago, but it's still only the prickle of a change. they're the one who might get cold when the sun goes down, who he's noticed slowing ever so slightly on their adventures. “ it's once every 33 years. ” he pulls his thoughts quickly back to the meteor storm, smile forced to return on his lips. “ we've gotta catch it this time or — ”

even nevaeh, as hyperactive as she was, sometimes felt like she couldn’t keep up with his pace. "i got lost track of time, sorry," she said softly, looking at kiel. "it’s once every 33 years, so keeping that in mind… i’m twenty-five, so twenty-five plus thirty-three…" she looked up, playful as ever. "i’ll be fifty-eight," her eyes widened. "oh god, i’ll be an old lady," she laughed, adjusting her bag on her shoulder. "do you think i’ll be a hot lady? maybe i’ll still wear short skirts," her mind completely missing the point he was trying to make.
