shballin' all day, erry day

Three of us decided to go along with Shabalov to two of the three elementary schools in our town to recruit kids into band.

We all piled into his blue van.  He then tells me how one student goto permission.  A flute player called his mom and said this: "mom? Oh. My, my life is a mess!"

As we were heading down the the hill, making jokes, shabalov almost hit the car infront of us, promting him to make the strangwst sound we heard out of him. It qas like a small wail mixed with a cats purr.  Promting us to tell.him his life was a mess. At cascade beiw he messed up and my clarinet was acting up. Our lives were a mess. At tukwila elementary shabalovs wife was also there and messed up.

After words we went to mcdonalds for icecream and friea.

How about what happens when Shabalov wants to show you a movie?

This was back in seventh grade, my first year with Shabalov because it was his first year teaching at the middle school.  It must have been after a concert because he told us we were going to watch a mobie for a few days. I along with the whole class were excited and worried. He had shown us numerous videos of mr bean, who I think is shabalovs brother, and other videos of musicians. This time was different. One awesome thing about shabalov is that he has his own rules, seperate from the school's.  He showed us  I Am Legend. The one with Will Smith and these Cancer zombies. Anyways I get freaked out real easily and the fact I was one of three girls in band didnt help. One eith grader, who plays the trumpet, decided at tthe suspensful parts to grab my shoulders and scream right behind me. Of course that scared me and Shabalov would just laugh. A week after we watched the movie I went to class and as usual I was the first one there. However the lig lights were off. So I walked in and of course said "hello?" And looked around thr corner. Shabalov jumped out behind the file cabinet and screamed. Being so frightened I ended up falling down. Turns out he wasnt alone, the trumoet player was also there. They both continued to scare me for two whole weeks.

And just remembered when I first had him as a teacher, sixth grade (5 years ago already?) and all I can remember was hating Shabalov cause our class would never shut up (which was annoying but I didn't think of it like that back then) and he'd always make us write the classroom rules over and over again on a piece of paper until class ended, and on top of that I was trying to be a rebellious little fuck so I'd always leave my clarinet in the locker and say I forgot it (and write a paper saying that next time I wont forget it over and over again) so back in the old days i didnt like shabalov. until the end of the year something changed? and I became a good student again and fell in love with band.

but by then it was too late cause I already picked my classes for next year and band wasnt one of them (and to change classes seemed like such a hassle) so after I was parted from my clarinet (and constantly passing shabolov when we were alone in the halls only to stop me and tell me that I need to join band again) I came back <3 so in 8th grade i was placed in advanced band and got to skip my seccond period like a million times a month for band and just had a great time!

Hey, remember that time Shabalov gave me the courage to ask out a cute boy due to his hella misogynistic comments on how girls should not ask out guys, men are the ones in charge and the patriarchy will surely exist indefinitely!
