The tentative knock on his door surprised him, especially when it was followed up by the poke of a curly haired head after it, grinning widely. Usually Shay found no issue in simply bounding into Lucien’s office when she needed something– which meant that with this change in manners, she definitely needed something. Lu glanced up from his papers, lifting a brow. “What’s up?”

“So it’s going to be all of us in town, but instead of being crammed in Westport, we’ll all be on a boat?” Miri made a face, looking over at Shay. “You’re not selling this too well. Is there an open bar?”

“He’s hot, isn’t he? Want to fuck him? I’m sure he’d say yes. He fucked plenty of people in this building. In fact, I’m almost sure everyone has had sex in here.” Maverick gave a small smile, “He’s not my type – I only fainted when Whitney Houston was here like a decade ago.”

“Look, I’m not that kind of doctor,” Heath readjusted the bag slung over his shoulder. The weight pressed wrinkles into his shirt as his other hand raised to block the yawn that escaped. “but anyone would be able to tell it was gangrene. I don’t think you’re suppose to fly in that condition; sitting for hours already limits your blood circulation. ”

"What kinda doctor are you then? Gangrene sounds like something pirates used to get when they were on the high seas, which begs the question... Did he have an eye patch? Slash did you remove his foot and give him a peg leg?”

“…huh,” was the only thing she said as she heard her stomach growling as she stared up at the ceiling as the pot took over her. “Y’Know, I didn’t know we grew flowers on the celing-we need to get someone on that.” Cheyenne said with a little giggle.

“I ate…what?” she asked shockingly as she sat down. “I thought I ate a regular brownie not a pot brownie…” silently panicking, she sat back down and waited for the hunger to take over and looking at the ceiling.

“Home sweet home then,” he teased as he reduced the space that separated him from her. It was strange for him, though he hadn’t exactly admitted it. That he’d gone from a man of one night stands and never letting another sleep over, to being in a committed relationship and practically living at his girlfriend’s house. The complete one-eighty that he’d done still made his head spin. “They say skin to skin is the best way to shift body heat,” he cooed moments before her lips pressed to his. Hands slid away from her hips, along her back so that he could pull her forward, holding her against him. “Fucking shit,” he spoke against her lips, “practically the bitch boy of the gang now.”

Everything had ultimately changed since his presumed betrayal. Despite the years he had with the Jackals under his belt, he was handed jobs as if he’d only just started. Trust was a hard thing to earn back, and he wasn’t even sure that’s what he was working at. Even if he was up all hours of the night, hearing that sweet voice welcome him back was enough to make it worth it. “Home, huh?” He teased as he moved through the home, discarding the leather jacket he truly wasn’t seen without. “Is this your way of asking me to warm you up?” He cooed as he moved closer, dropping his jacket so that hands could find their place on her hips.

“Hey, Sorry to bother you,” Dylan mumbled as she walked up to someone and eyed their hands for a moment, wondering if what they were playing with was what she wanted. “Don’t happen to have a spare cigarette and lighter laying around, do you?” 

"Yeah, always.” Without a moment’s hesitation, she reached into her bag and pulled out the exact commodities being requested. “I’ve also got somethin’ a bit more mellow if you vibe that way. No pressure.”

Miriam’s own icecream was a mess of coconut and mango, she’d selected a tub of the seven dollar vegan treat just for the fact that Shay was coming over– she’d hidden a tub of Ben and Jerry’s behind her new roommate’s frozen food. Clicking the lockscreen, she slid out of the mess of long limbs and blankets, brushing off her lap. “We either gotta walk around the room once before starting another episode, or go out and do something. Today’s going to bring down my weekly step count so much I won’t have anything to brag about in the lunch room anymore. Do you know how hard it is to stay more active than Tammy in accounts?”

“What….in the hell….” was the only thing Cheyenne could say when she ate it, and it tasted quite…different. “What the hell did I just taste just now?”

“So, I’m running an unofficial poll at this point.” Casey commented to the person nearby as he waited for his coffee, “To see if anyone else has ideas on things I could to this summer with my daughter that she would think is fun but also isn’t going to completely break the bank. Because so far at least half of my suggestions have been met with ‘That’s boring, Daddy’.” he said with a small sigh, “So museums, hikes, and bowling … all definite ‘no’s.” 

“That’s ‘cause you didn’t suggest laser tag.” She replied matter-of-factly, as though the idea were more obvious than all of his previous ones combined.“Also Color Me Mine since she’s a kid and every kid loves to paint, that’s just a fact.” Granted, Shay was a grown woman (sort of) who still enjoyed the same venture. “Hikes and bowling are such dude things at that age so unless she’s a tomboy, you’re shit outta luck.”

“Okay, but have you seen this tweet?” The two had spent the majority of their afternoon sprawled on Miriam’s couch, spooning down ice cream and watching Bravo over the edges of their phones. Despite their suffering attention spans, intertwined legs and quiet snickering made the hours spent enjoyable– she leaned over to turn her phone in Shay’s direction. When she leaned up, a myriad of crumbs fell from her lap, making the brunette frown. “Fuck, we’re disgusting.”
