Queen of Ice

The literal point of Kamui's character is that he doesn't soften his edges even when he finally understands love isn't weakness, and continues to be a planet destroying menace at the series end. Putting him with someone who he HAS to be soft for defeats the entire purpose of this character. How is it an exciting dynamic to dull his sharpness? I don't get it.

He does not have a proper love interest because it would undercut his narrative purpose, and the only way he could is if it's someone who matches his intensity and isn't asking him to be less. ( Could be someone existing but you can't have the actual romance until after Rakuyou is complete...)That's why he doesn't work to me with Soyo or Abuto. Nobume and Takasugi are the only characters who can make sense - - save Okita and Mutsu who are slotted for Kagura and Sakamoto - - but there really isn't a canon who would be everything he needs to both preserve his current state AND drive him to self improvement.
