Reblog if you don't use Generative AI to write fanfics/original fics or to create fanart/original art.
A German regional court has ruled that Google is directly liable for the content of its AI search overviews. According to the court, previou
Letβs fucking go
This is HUGE.
1. The court holds Google responsible for statements made by its AI, considering them Google's statements (search engines have limited liability for results in their engine as they're the words of other sites/companies/people), meaning when their AI lies/hallucinates they're liable for the defamation/harm resulting from those statements.
2. Google's defense that customers are generally aware of the lack of reliability and are responsible for fact checking was dismissed. As the court pointed out, that would "significantly diminish" AI Search's stated purpose and it can't be distinguished from Google's business practices/statements as a search tool.
3. Studies have found about 91% of Google's everyday AI responses are accurate, leaving millions of searches per HOUR with potential liability for falsehoods. 56% of correct responses weren't supported by the sources the AI listed. Both of which mean Google is now liable for a LOT more AI "errors."
4. Google was held liable for 80% of court costs in this case and this precedent is expected to reverberate around the world. This is a massive shift from the 3rd-party search provider role Google has previously played and it comes right as they've tied ALL searches to their AI search.
TL;DR Google reeeeeally stepped in it this time.

This is one of my fav OCs. His name is Weenor and he's suave AF
HE HAS THE BEST VEHICULAR MODE EVER!!!!!! πππππππ
my man ;u; tysm for this gift β₯β₯
much appreciation for people who create ocs that are clearly derivative of The Character because even if the inspiration is clear, they had the self awareness that their headcanons had snowballed so far past character analysis into pure self indulgence that there was very little of source material left. and thatβs beautiful. sometimes when youβre preoccupied playing touys itβs hard to take a step back and realize youβve actually created something wonderful and new
Some fanart I drew for the fabulous fic 'Who Said Time Travel had to be Done by People Anyways?'
It's about Clone Wars Era Quinlan Vos and baby Cal Kestis getting items from the future and reading the past future memories and using that info to try and save the galaxy. They are messy and it's fabulous and little wee Cal gets a thermal detonator.
Go read it! I did a second illustration from the fic as well but it's under the cut since it's from the latest chapter of this fic as of the time of posting

[one single bloodcurdling agonized scream] ok time to lock in
reblog this if your blog is a safe space on april fools and wonβt have any jumpers, screamers, or anything scary or anxiety inducing
psst...hey...do YOU like rp...do you wanna rp with other people but you don't know a good place...are you looking at shapes.ai and going "i could do better than that but Where"...have you fallen off the wagon and gone "wow i don't know where anyone rps these days"
do you wanna do stupid shit like this (using only my own journals to preserve people's privacy)
well! this is one of many places! but have you considered: trying out journal rp!! we used to be on livejournal! we're on dreamwidth now!
(livejournal rp is where this comes from btw)
Here's a newbie guide I made! It's got a glossary!
It's easy to make journals and mess around with them and you only need one email account! Play with canon characters like barbie dolls! Play with OCs also like barbie dolls! It's fun!!
If you've dropped off journal rp and you want a little place to hop back in and warm up I have started a comm for this purpose!! New and old people super super welcome!
Journal rp! You should totally try it, it's fun! Come and hang out!
Seconding this. I've been in journal rp (livejournal -> dreamwidth) since the early 2000s. It has consistently remained one of the most fulfilling forms of rp as a hobby for me than any other format (forum, instant messaging/chat rp, sub-versions of those two). I've met some lifelong friends in the hobby, had some of the funniest interactions I could have never written in fic, and an amazing creative outlet in ways I cannot fully explain without sounding like a crazy person.
There are so many game settings you can play in, non-commitment memes you can dip in and out of without any stress, graphics communities, all of it. Also the archival system works beautifully. I can still read rp logs from 15 years ago if I go looking for it. Privacy settings are wonderful as well. I cannot stress this enough: the privacy and archive settings of dreamwidth journals and communities are leagues above any other rp format I've tried. Even if there is ever a worry that the dreamwidth site itself may go down, there are any number of ways to easily back up the logs to your personal device.
The initial learning curve to how using the journal account for play-by-post works is a bit of work up front, but it's honestly the most straightforward way I've ever seen it done in all my years of experimenting around.
I cannot encourage folks enough to join the community and see what strikes your fancy!
hi really sorry to bother you but i just want to let you know that you reblogged a post from another tumblr user
I hope you can find it in your heart to forgive me
