Chaotic family member: metal sonic pls

There is not a single crochet pattern out there for Metal Sonic. I had never heard of Metal Sonic. Metal Sonic is very spiky. This may be beyond me.

Aargh all my projects are on hold because I ordered a bunch of yarn that turns out to be stuck in customs in Denmark.

And when my package arrives I have to wait at home and sign for it. That's right, my ~$20 of acrylic yarn is so sensitive and valuable that I have to SIGN FOR IT.

I hate tariffs. Just give me my yarn.

I've been binge watching Perry Mason (the 1950s black-and-white series) while I crochet and it is absolutely perfect for the purpose. It is exactly the right balance of formulaic and absorbing.

My friend @ftmshepard is considering converting to Judaism, and we have plans to visit a few different synagogues together so he can get a feel for the many kinds of Jewish community out there/fully understand what he's getting into. I offered to crochet him a kippah so he doesn't need to wear a random one from somebody's wedding. He requests a trans pride one and I get to work.

Halfway through, I receive some family news and frantically text ftmshepard:

I finish the kippah. Cousin E. arrives, bareheaded for the first time I can remember. I explain the situation and say the kippah is hers if she would wear it. After I have assured her that I will make another and she is not depriving my friend, she accepts. She flew home yesterday with it in her bag.

Wes, I promise you that you will get yours eventually! I just ordered more pink and blue yarn.
