1. Demolishing the "Hypocrite" Myth

A common opinion from many is that Ego is a hypocrite: "Why does he make these kids train until they collapse while he just sits in a dark room eating instant ramen?"

This criticism completely misunderstands the fundamental boundary between a coach and a student:

Does a teacher need to write the homework twice before grading it? Absolutely not. The teacher’s duty is to design the curriculum, analyze weaknesses, and guide. The student’s duty is to execute, practice, and learn.

THE RELENTLESS WORKLOAD :

Managing DOZENS of very volatile, elite teenage egos is a mental nightmare. As written in his official Egoist Bible, Ego lives on a segmented sleep schedule waking up in short time slots during the day and night. He sacrifices normal human sleep patterns to constantly analyze player data, design custom training programs, and monitor every interaction in the facility. He works just as much as the players on the pitch.

4. Vedic Numerology: The 31st of March (3 + 1 = 4)

While Ego is a fictional character, author Muneyuki Kaneshiro chose March 31 as his birthday, a date that aligns with his character design:

NUMBER (3+1=4) = RAHU :

Represents revolutionary thinking, obsessive focus, hyper-practical logic, and a magnetic, slightly dark aura. Rahu makes individuals affected by him strongly break traditional systems and create completely new systems.

THE COMPONENT NUMBERS :

NUMBER 3 = JUPITER (GURU) :

The planet of wisdom, teaching, and strict principles. Ego shows these traits in how he handles sensitive situations such as keeping Yukimiya’s eye condition private until he could offer a tactical path that helped him, not allowing himself to exploit a player's personal issue for drama. It also shows his dislike for superficial gossip n useless drama

NUMBER 1 = THE SUN :

Gives absolute leadership, unshakeable conviction, and a commanding sense of self.

Deconstructing EGO JINPACHI (Part 1B): Truth Behind "Your Losses Are Mine" (contains spoilers!!)

"Your Wins Are Yours, YOUR Losses Are MINE" - Ego Jinpachi

"A true coach doesn't JUST demand excellence, they absorb the fallback of failure."

In recent chapters, Ego made a statement to his players: "Your wins are yours, and your losses are mine."

While this statement was more of a strategically designed line to destroy performance anxiety, this line shows Ego's core integrity:

TOTAL ACCOUNTABILITY :

He sees his project and the players as an extension of HIS vision. If the Blue Lock project fails, he doesn't use the kids as a scapegoat. He absorbs the entire fallback, knowing it could permanently ban him from the football world he loves.

He is not nice, but he is fundamentally honest and responsible.

He does NOT treat the players as disposable pawns when failure occurs. (Which also disproves the theory of him being a man with no principles and heart at all)

Even, the fact that he states "i won't change my ways" is him stating his unshakble conviction in his own methods.

TEACHER INSTINCT :

He willingly keeps aside his own arrogance to protect the psychological freedom of his players on the pitch. He is not soft, but he is completely dedicated to his duty as a coach. His way of dealing with his players is very similar to how Shani Dev tests souls, they both do it not from maliciousness, they both do it cause they want to see evolution..

1 . THE S1 BETRAYAL : KUON AND THE TEST OF PURE AUTONOMY :

During the First Selection, when Kuon sold out Team Z information to the opposition, many expected Ego to step in, lock off Kuon, or make fair play. Instead, Ego allowed the match to continue.

Critics said it was unfair, but Ego didn't stay quiet out of malice he was testing the structural integrity of their individual egos.

1. The World Stage Reality :

In professional football, matches are fixed, teammates get bribed, referees are bribed, and chaos occurs. If a striker's ability to perform depends entirely on having loyal, agreeable teammates, their "ego" is a fragile illusion.

2. Exposing Codependency :

Expecting the world to always be fair is a form of dependency. By forcing Team Z to play through a 10 vs 12 handicap, Ego tested who possessed an ego strong enough to look an artificial constraint in the eye and still demand a win. It was exactly this issue that forced Isagi to stop relying on team consensus and start adapting to environmental chaos on his own terms.

3. Ego's Personal View On Kuon's Actions :

He stated that Kuon was the lowest of the low, cause he took a cowardly path to ensure his victory, rather than earning it by merit like a true striker. It shows his ego and his self belief is soo fragile that he needs to use underhanded tactics to win and doesnt have the guts to win by merit.

This statement from him further solidifies the fact that Ego is a meritrocrat and doesn't take actions on his own whims, he respects effort backed by genuine potential infinitely more than lazy genius and underhanded ways to win

2. WHY DID EGO BREAK THE TV?

When Ego physically shattered the monitor in front of the players after they succumbed to confusion and existential doubt, it wasn't a temper tantrum. It was a wake up call.

1. Exposing the Soft Exit :

They weren't js doubting Ego, they were looking for "other ways to live" because they secretly stopped believing they could actually become the world's best.

2. The Ulimate Challenge :

He proved that if a player’s internal compass breaks the second they face top tier competition, their "ego" was never a true anchor to begin with it was just fragile vanity. He demanded an ego so unshakeable that it refuses to look for safe compromises, even when staring despair in the face.

Conclusion :

This shows he is fundamentally a meritrocrat, extremely fair in his ways, and a true mentor who actually prepares these players for the real world instead of shielding them.

Deconstructing EGO JINPACHI (Part 2) : True egoism VS vanity, why rin was benched (contains spoilers!!)

INTRODUCTION

In Part 1, we established Ego Jinpachi's underlying philosophy, his alignment with the Shani Dev archetype, Vedic numerology, the law of Karma, his accountable n honest nature, why he is not a hypocrite etc

In Part 2, we look at his most controversial choices, (like why he benched rin and locked off nagi etc) proving that every single "cruel" decision he makes is a calculated test of player autonomy and brutal truth.

1. Defining True Egoism: The Compass vs. Arrogant Vanity

Finally.. we come to the main part of his philosophy: Egoism.

When an average person hears the word "ego," they think of vanity, arrogance, and childish narcissism. But in Jinpachi Ego’s framework, Ego is the compass of one's life.

FALSE EGO (ARROGANCE) :

Makes a person blind to their own flaws and weaknesses, rejects any constructive criticism, gives fragile pride, and inevitably leads to stagnation and downfall. (Cough cough kaiser)

TRUE EGOISM :

The absolute, unshakeable internal anchor that defines who you are. It decides what makes you genuinely happy, what makes you mad and what you stand for. It is the internal conviction that keeps you steady regardless of whether 80,000 stadium fans are cheering for you or screaming insults at you.

True Egoism is NOT js saying "I am the best."

It demands BRUTAL SELF HONESTY. It requires you to acknowledge your limitations, accept when you have been outplayed, burn away your vanity, and constantly commit to self improvement.

Without a strong Ego, you are unanchored like a loose leaf in the wind, easily swept away by the opinions of others, and you eventually end up as a mediocre player who blended in but achieved nothing. Ego Jinpachi DOESNT encourage narcissism, he helps in building unshakeable individual identities which can survive the brutal reality of elite sports, which is often filled with corruption.

INSTANCES THAT CLEAR JINPACHI'S DEFINITION OF EGO :

1. BENCHING RIN ITOSHI :

Ego’s treatment towards Rin Itoshi is often misunderstood as favouritism towards isagi or petty management , sending Rin to meditate with monks, benching him in the match against England.. etc.

But Ego takes decisions strictly on data, and the data shows that Rin’s ego was fundamentally flawed because it was leashed to external variables (think, his hate for sae, isagi, etc) rather than being completely his own like true egoism. Hate as a fuel can get you far yes, but it always keeps you tied to the person you hate and it ultimately limits your actions and potential

PROOF OF RINS DEPENDENT EGO:

1. The Trap of Tunnel Vision :

A true ego NEEDS to be SELF sustaining and INDEPENDENT. Rin is 100% a generational talent, but he used hate and aggression toward his brother Sae and Isagi as his primary fuel. While hate can carry a player far, it creates severe tunnel vision and caps your potential, as I've mentioned before.

2. The U-20 World Cup Match vs. Japan :

In the final matchup, Rin was so fixated on physically destroying Sae that he completely missed the BALL when it escaped Sae's control. Because Isagi’s main focus was the ball and the objective itself not a personal hate, Isagi reacted instantly and scored the game winning goal.

3. The match against France :

Rin became so blinded by his obsession with Isagi that he actively tried to steal Isagi's goal path rather than constructing his own optimal play.

4. Ego sending Rin to monks :

Ego sent Rin to meditate with monks to teach him detachment, to stop using hate as primary fuel.

Isagi uses rivals as fuel to evolve, but Isagi never makes those rivals his primary focus. Isagi's main intent is always self evolution and winning. Whereas Rin, leashed his potential fully to Sae and Isagi.

Ego knew Rin’s flawed ego wouldn't heal through simple advice. Rin required a deep dose of despair. By benching him and forcing him to watch others like Isagi play, Ego made Rin face the uncomfortable truth: he didn't lose due to a lack of talent or effort, but because he CHAINED his own potential to someone else. Ego’s decision was pure data driven diagnosis, completely lacking in pettiness.

And this is why I say his character is a reflection of Shani Dev's methods, just like him he forces people to face their own truths. (Referencing to part 1)

1. The Misunderstood Mastermind

Many view Ego Jinpachi as a cold and heartless puppet master who uses teenagers for his own vanity. But the reality is that, true growth never comes from coddling, it comes from facing uncomfortable truths.

Ego is very principled. Blue Lock doesnt run by malice or favoritism it runs on pure cause and effect (Karma). Ego acts strictly on objective data analysis. He breaks players down not to destroy them out of malice, but because pressure is the only mechanism that turns carbon into diamonds.

In Hindu philosophy, Shani Dev is a god who represents truth, cosmic justice and impartiality. He delivers the exact results of any living being's KARMA. His tests are famously brutal, forcing a lot of introspection and shattering of arrogance, but his underlying intent is always transformation, never destruction

Ego Jinpachi works on this exact philosophy:

BELIEF IN KARMA :

Ego’s obsession with cause and effect is actually confirmed in the official Egoist Bible, where his favorite historical figure is listed as the Japanese author Ryūnosuke Akutagawa, with the caption: "You can taste mankind's karma from his works." He is very fascinated by karma, how it states that every action gives a corresponding reaction. Because he takes absolute accountability himself (proved later in this post itself), he demands the same from his players

IMPARTIALITY :

He doesn't play favorites. Performance and data decide survival, how he treats players, how they advance etc. he is free from the usual favouritism or nepotism that runs sports on higher levels, he gives his players a fair playing ground regardless of their past and status. he made an enviornment where survival is in the hands of the player not the higher authorities only.

USING FRICTION TO REFINE :

Like a goldsmith beating raw gold or Shani Dev testing a soul, Ego puts extreme psychological pressure to burn away mediocrity. he insults them and gives hard tests to pressure them so that they transform.

THE MIRROR :

He never gives players the answers directly. He disguses guidance in complex puzzles, so that when players DO discover the solution themselves, the realization permanently rewires their intellect.

The kindness beneath the steel

My thoughts on Shani Dev ..

In the pages of many scriptures of Indian Vedas and through storytelling of many, Shani dev is often painted as the God who punishes, brings pain and delay. He’s portrayed as someone who will get angry at someone even if they inhaled air in the wrong direction.

People fear his Dashas and Mahadashas, as if they are sentenced to a punishment worse than death. Many worship him out of pure fear or after being told to do so by some astrologer.

His name means “slow moving”. He is known to bring delays and tests in one’s life. His sade saati has become a term people use to describe someone’s hard time in life. But they miss one important detail.

These seven and a half years are definitely filled with tests, but even more, they are filled with opportunities for growth and enlightenment.

Shani Dev puja

Shani dev is often seen holding a mirror, symbolising that he is not there to hurt you, simply to reflect back the truth in you.

Then may it be demons or angles inside your heart, you will see it. He makes you face your worst not to shame you but rather to show you where you can improve. He puts you in such situations, where not only actions are tested but also the intent behind them. He is extremely fair in his ways and will always guide you, you just have to keep your eyes open to see it

I, myself have experienced his love through his tests. My 12th grade was during his sade saati. He made the environment such, that I was forced to work hard and face myself. I was forced to break and rebuild. He made me go from an aimless unorganized person to someone who’s confident and ambitious.

He taught me grit, but the world around me taught me to see results as the only defining factor of success. Which made even resting feel like a breach on my own path to success

Sure, that year was filled with big set backs and delays, moments where I laid down wondering if it was all even worth it, since my results rarely reflected my efforts, but I never stopped going. The day I let go of the need of results to validate me, the day when I started to rest and study with balance, he rewarded me by making me get a 99/100 in the one exam where it mattered the most.

It was then that I realized that even if it seems like the world does not see the sacrifices and honesty of your intent, he always remembers. Those, who work hard without praise, impatience and greed are the ones who get his highest blessings.

Success granted by him is slower and more painful in process, but when you do get it, no one else can take it awayfrom you. This was clear from the fact that I was the only one who got a 99 and no one even scored near this.

On the brink of losing myself to overwork and burn out, the endless loop of exams came to a halt. I had always respected what he represented; discipline, ethics and hard work.

But as I started to pray to him, I started to see just how truly kind he was. He had pushed me enough to evolve but stepped in when it got destructive.

Only three days of his bhakti seemed to cured a year of burn out in me.

People describe him as a strict punisher, someone who makes people isolate and face problems. But they forget to mention that he is in fact very kind and forgiving.

He never punishes out of anger or arrogance, he punishes wrong deeds like a strict but kind teacher who would rather be seen as strict than compromise his student’s growth.

He is the only one who will make you see the cold hard truth, because coddling does not result in true evolution. The moment you look into the mirror he upholds, as a test result, rather than a personal attack, is when his tests get easier. He is the one who sees the potential of creating a ‘diamond’ from ‘carbon’, but as we all are aware, diamonds require extremely high pressure and heat to be formed.

Along with the job of delivering justice and upholding karma, his lesser known job is also to guide souls to the right path. He is someone who loves authenticity, and even if you ever go to him and pray “I feel stuck, please help me understand how to solve this” without any rituals, he always responds. I know this because in the middle of his tests I would often pray to him for guidance and I would somehow always receive it in one way or the other. So if you ever feel like you are stuck, feel free to ask him the same.

Trust me when I say this, you will never find a guide better than the karmic judge of this universe.

His presence and gaze are said to bring bad luck and problems, but people forget WHY they occur in the first place;

They occur to destroy what’s false and install what’s true.

One of my biggest examples of the same is that, when I was gifted an idol of him, a lot of unrest got generated in my relationships with those who I was the closest to. But the same unrest lead to clarity among us all and made our relationships bullet proof, which were originally on the path of breaking.

I will forever have gratitude towards him, for he, answers my each call. Where ever I would go, I would see a crow, which are considered to be his vehicle. Whenever I would feel lonely and say I wish to see him, crows start cawing or I get to go to his temple later in the day.

His love is the most quiet and the most dedicated love of them all. He will never leave your side, hold you close when his tests break your heart and make sure that you always walk on the right path.

Remember this, he only breaks enough to rebuild better, not till the point of destruction.
