I just finished Light From Uncommon Stars by Ryka Aoki and it's my favorite book I've read this year if not of all time. The way it describes small moments of taste, sound, and feeling is unbelievable. It's seemingly disparate characters and themes come together so well too. I mean who would have thought a book about a trans girl running away from an abusive family, a family of aliens running away from a war and opening a donut shop, and a violinist teaching students violin so she can sacrifice them to a devil would work so well, but it does and it's the best book I've read about what it is to be human ever.

JM DeMatteis along with the story where he led the Masters of Evil in Avengers Under Seige really sold me on Zemo. He's been one of my favorite villains ever since.
