A loop pedal can be the perfect practice/composition tool - set up a groove, then shed a scale, arpeggio sequence or compose some new ideas - if you find something really cool yet find you're stuck with just the one groove or idea, save it on the pedal so you can come back to it another time with fresh ears and see if you can come up with something tasty to compliment it. Master the fundamentals - triads & 7th chord shapes - the majority of my playing is based on connecting triad & 7th chord inversions all over the neck as smoothly as possible - rather than playing full chord shapes, I prefer the sound of connecting bits and pieces of different inversions while mixing up the rhythm to make it sound interesting (these three clips are all improvised using this playing approach) #pickupjazz #lickwars #ambientnotes #organictone #guitar @fender @fractalaudiosystems (at Bundeena, New South Wales, Australia)
