Though the odds were low, they weren't zero- and Aventurine was very, very lucky. Veritas Ratio was by no means a gambling man, but that would require them both knowing there was odds to be drawn in the first place. In a less than .01% chance, Ratio gets that Avgin pregnant and because Aventurine didn't get any Avgin sex education growing up, neither of them have any idea how that happened.
