“You know the son of Coul?”

“Coulson? Kind of. I know of him more than I know him.”

“You tell me, Barnes. I just wanted to sit.”

“Greetings. I am Lady Sif, commander of the warriors three, protector of the throne of Asgard, keeper of the shield, and defender of the royal house of Odin. Who stands before me?”

“Shadow. My name’s Shadow. You’re an Asgardian.”

“You picked a fight with a Sentinel... Why? Were they trying to arrest you or something?”

“i’m not defensive, sof.”

Sofia slung her arm over Aaron’s shoulder. “Alright. I’ll believe you. For now.”

      “ it’s only like, two years. ”

“True. But two years could be nothing. Or it could be everything.”

“How’d you get it? Pick a fight?”

“i don’t love her. she’s just a friend.”

“Okay... Then why were you so defensive? Suddenly didn’t know her and all.”

“no idea what you’re talking about. never met a redhead in my life, probably never will. they’re very rare. and i don’t love people, come on.”

“You do love her. Or is it just a crush? Aw come on, Aaron. You can’t lie to me.”

“logic is wonderful, actually.” aaron had to resist the urge to smack his hand over his eyes. “i don’t know what the hell you’re talking about. who’s this mj you speak of?”

“Oh you know, the pretty redhead who thinks we look alike and calls you a hot douchebag. That MJ? Says you love her. Come on, don’t tell me you’re keeping secrets.”

“ah, and yet there’s still no logical way to blame me for that.” aaron shrugged, raising an eyebrow. “but i love that nickname so much.”

“Logic’s overrated.” Sofia tilted her head, shrugging. “Poor you. So, MJ seemed to think you love her. You got a crush you haven’t told your little sister about?”

“you know i’m too lazy for that. umm, yeah. they gave you your genes, not me.” the brunette smiled at her. “shit, i’m better at having my ego boosted. but you’re seriously impressive, kiddo.”

“True. But you’re here, so it’s easier.” Sofia chuckled. “Of course you are. Thanks. And what have I said about calling me kiddo? You start doing it and everyone thinks it’s okay.”
