Sofia slung her arm over Aaron’s shoulder. “Alright. I’ll believe you. For now.”

“You do love her. Or is it just a crush? Aw come on, Aaron. You can’t lie to me.”

“Oh you know, the pretty redhead who thinks we look alike and calls you a hot douchebag. That MJ? Says you love her. Come on, don’t tell me you’re keeping secrets.”

“Logic’s overrated.” Sofia tilted her head, shrugging. “Poor you. So, MJ seemed to think you love her. You got a crush you haven’t told your little sister about?”

“True. But you’re here, so it’s easier.” Sofia chuckled. “Of course you are. Thanks. And what have I said about calling me kiddo? You start doing it and everyone thinks it’s okay.”

“If it were, I’m sure you’d have figured it out. Who should I blame then? Mum and Dad?” She shrugged. “Probably. It certainly doesn’t hurt from time to time. So where’s my ego booster?”

“I did go through puberty. Just because I still look fourteen just means you two stole all the growth genes.” She rolled her eyes and leant her head on her brother’s shoulder. “I know you do.”

Peter raised his eyebrows. “Okay, yeah, I’m sure.” He taunted back. “You’re just jealous that I look, like, really cool and you don’t.” The boy spoke sarcastically, of course.

“Smart girl. There’s been people who don’t put it together before. Mostly I think because people still seem to think I’m a teenager and your sister is twenty.” Sofia grinned, laughing with Aaron. She rolled her eyes, pushing his shoulder lightly. “This is why you don’t need me to boost your ego.”

“She seemed it, yeah. Hence not telling her I was your sister.” Ever mature, Sofia stuck her tongue out as well. “Sure you do. Too many if you ask me. You make friends way too easily,” she teased. She’d never had that gift, keeping people at arm’s distance. Too many times people had been scared of her, too many times she’d seen horror movie after horror movie of her powers being the bad guy. She’d rather be selective.

“What? I didn’t want her to know I was a Hydra agent too. Not when she was calling you a Nazi.” She chuckled. “You made a friend,” she teased. She rolled her eyes again as his expression. “Uh huh, sure it hurts. Careful what you say then.”

“Oh yeah?” Peter asked, lifting an eyebrow. “Why don’t you try it, then?” He grinned.
