I was 10 in 89.  Before the Poke-land, Poke-Sea, and Poke-Air were created.  Before the Poke-Grass, and Poke-Water.  Before the pokemon were even a thought, there was poke-nothing but I.  But screw it, Super Mario Bros. 3 came out in Japan in 1988 so I’m from the land of the freak’n giants.

No one watched it because CN gave it a shit time slot, never advertised when it was on, and all together gave no shits about it. 

Meanwhile, I bet this new show gets almost as much coverage as TTG and they’ll say that it’s so much bigger of a success than the last version.

are we really being fair to the show when the only real footage we’ve been shown is a production teaser?  The art style isnt great, and yes, TTG is a terrible trend writing wise.  But to be devils advocate, this style, while being simplistic and cheap in still ashetic, has been shown through sequences in other shows put under the “CalArts” vent can be very interesting in motion, ie, Steven, Star Vs, and the show people are comparing this to, OK KO.  As well, if this show is gonna be like OK KO in terms of show structure, rather than TTG, it could have a lot of potential for comedic/action.  OK KO is really a tounge and cheek deconstruction on many old video game and 80s action cartoon trends, while retaining the action and kaboomy explosions we *like* about said trends.  If Roar is just gonna be a more pin pointed deconstruction, ie for just thundercats, and possibly the shows that aired around the same time, it could be atleast enjoyable. There are ways to do this right, and OK KO and TTG are on different ends of the spectrum of doing it right or wrong respectively
