I vastly prefer to keep AI discourse off my blog for the most part (and will likely stick to this) but like…why do I keep seeing restaurants generating images of food that look to be full of rot and disease and then using that to advertise. I’ll see meat with the consistency of writhing maggots or images where the AI adds detailed texturing that looks like a bunch of insect eggs. Holes where there shouldn’t be holes and color grading that vaguely reminds you of something you forgot in the fridge for two weeks. And then the person goes ‘nice, that’s what I think delicious food looks like,’ and onto the promotional material it goes

And once or twice it’s been a place I’ve had pretty good food from! And I’ll be thinking of eating there when the Sinister Rotburger manifests in stark detail in my mind, unrelenting. Come on guys you gotta know that it looks gross p l e a s e
