Outside of tumblr, a lot of panels aren’t exactly analyzed so I wanted to do a couple for fun (1/??)

This panel specifically stood out to me when skimming through sbg again and I realized that I, as well as many others, never really put much thought in it. But I think this panel says a lot about Ashlyn’s character development (I use that term loosely because their is nothing wrong with not wanting friends but ykw I mean)

I feel like everyone talks about her and Aiden’s hug because it was a special moment but I think this moment has a lot of meaning as well. With Ashlyn, it’s easy to brush off her relationship with these two because characters like Aiden or Taylor or Tyler outshine them. This panel shows that the group cares for each other out of family or romantic love which is amazing since people tend to push any relationship that aren’t romantic or such under the rug. Nothings wrong with shipping, obviously, but many like to say the others aren’t close close because they don’t have ‘chemistry’. I love this panel because it gives the feeling that ALL the kids are close because they are; they all go through the same shit, they all go to the same sleepovers or hangouts, they all do everything together not just a duo or trio.

It shows how much they genuinely care for each other because all three of their reactions were to hug. Like, Ashlyn Banner, the girl who pushed everyone away her whole life, first instinct was to hug her friends. That means the absolute world to me and it shows just how close they ALL are. I don’t mean to emphasize how close they all are so much but it just irritates me that their whole bond gets broken up into duos or trios. They are not a bunch of duo people, they are an amazing squad of six who all cares for one another, okay?

Idk how much of this made sense, and I probably repeated myself a lot but this is my stance. I absolutely adore this panel!! The sbg kids group love means the world to me
