Lesson One

“You’re right, m'love. One morning I woke up and I stopped being an ugly duckling it seems. I have no idea when and how it happened, but it did!’” She laughed a slight blush to her cheeks, only to have her happy mood fade as the conversation progressed. “Yeah, about that. Let’s just say that it was good while it lasted.”

“I believe it.” he teased, giving her a look over. Eventually his smile faded and he furrowed his brows, “ I’m sorry to hear that, Reese. If you need to talk about it or anything, let me know. I’ve been through my fair share of shit.” he admitted, giving a light shrug. “Plus I know all the best places to get food to heal the heartbreak.”

Gabriela: come have a movie night with me???

Gabriela: i feel the need for lOTS of snacks and for some company

Seth: I would love to.

Nevada grinned and pressed the button to the elevator, watching the doors slide open as they stepped in. Once they were closed, and his floor was selected. He turned towards Seth smirking. Reaching out and grasping the hem of their shirt and flushed the male’s body closer to his. “Figure we have a few minutes to spare,” Nev purred.

Seth watched the other man as the elevator doors shut. His eyes remained locked on him and a small grin crept to the corners of his mouth, feeling Nevada’s grip, he moved into him. “We can definitely spare a few.” his hand went to the other boys belt loop, having already been straight up against him he tugged a little more. It didn’t take long before his lips pressed against the other males, pulling him into a hard and lust filled kiss, his free hand moving to the back of the other’s hair, giving it a light tug. 

“Let me change that for you.”

“Gladly. Let’s go.”

“Pretty good. Nothing overly exciting but I’ve got no reason to complain.” She said with a shrug a soft smile tugged at the corners of her mouth as she made eye contact with him. Plopping down on the couch next to him she allowed her body to fit right into the curvature of his.  “How was yours?”

Seth’s smile widened a little as Olivia fell into his side, his arm instinctively wrapped around her, pulling her a little tighter up against him. “Glad to hear it.” his fingertips lightly ran over his shoulder as he thought back to his day, “It was pretty good, too.” he chuckled, “I mean I just caught up on some grading. Boring stuff really.” His eyes remained locked with hers, a soft smile tugging at the corner of his lips. “Thanks again for hanging out.”

“You bet, I have some ink myself but not as much as you do. Can I…?” Kaleb questioned as he reached his hand out to trace the pattern of the tattoo on the man’s arm. 

Atticus shook his head and looked over at Seth, “Are you drunk?”

Seth furrowed his brows, looking over at the other man, “No. Why would you assume that?” he chuckled, “Can’t I just think you’re attractive? I mean, it’s something you haven’t lost since we’ve met.” 

“Nothing rude about getting to the point.”

“I suppose you’re right there.”

And the plot thickens…heh. I’m flattered, love, but I’ve got someone to keep me warm at night, so you’ll have to settle for cheek kisses and platonic cuddles.

“Can’t help that you’re a hottie. I can deal with these terms.” he chuckled, “That someone better treat you right or I may have to get involved.”

“We could make this happen.”

Keila smiled at Seth. “You would want to come with me?” She was always shocked to hear that people wanted to hang out with her. “You will have to bring him by one day, so I can meet him.” She loved spending time with kids. “That can be tricking.” She had her experience with her ex-husband. 

Seth smiled softly, “Of course, Keila. You’re a blast to be around.” his smile widened a little, “He usually comes over on weekends to hang out. I’ll give you call next time he’s around.” he pressed his lips together for a second and gave a soft nod, “Relationship troubles are the worst..Hurts you both.” not wanting to really think about his past relationships, he decided to change the subject a little, “Has anything exciting been going on at work other than what you’ve told me already?” 

“You alright there, Masters?” 

“I honestly don’t know. You may be too hot for my eyes to handle.” 

“I mean well.. you know nice ink. Very nice”

Her body turned to face Seth, one leg laying across the other. It was nice having friends from LA in Denver.  “I don’t know if you can.” Her brows furrowed. “It’s mostly Dylan’s mom’s famous friends coming. I am allowed to bring someone with me.” She did have someone in mind she wanted to ask. “Your sister?” She nodded her head. “Is everything alright? I didn’t know you had a nephew.”

Seth gave a light chuckle, “Well, if you end up needing a date, let me know.” he offer a soft smile, “Yeah, he turns four next month. Crazy how time flies by.” he gave a nod, “She’s alright. Just trying to figure out her relationship with her husband.” 

“Still a cheater,” she repeated in a mocking tone, making faces at him. “Yeah, yeah, yeah. Our rules. You just can’t handle that I’m so good that even without star power I could totally kick your ass. Especially on ‘Through the Fire and Flames.’ I understand that this does not help my argument since I accidentally activated star power, which in turn gained me points at an exponentially higher rate, but…just go with me and work with me here,” she rambled. Her eyes lifted to look up at Seth, and nearly lost it at his attempt of a serious face. “Wait, wait. Okay…” she said through laughter and a long exhale of breath. “You trying to be serious, I just couldn’t take it. But I’m ready now. You’re going down!” she told him, giving him a war face of her own which was an over-exaggerated grump face where her eyes stared into his, her thumb refusing to be pinned down. “I most certainly will not be defeated, Seth. Might as well give up now. You know how stubborn I am. This is going to take a while.”

Seth couldn’t help but laugh when Reese did. He tried to keep the straight face but his smile kept creeping up on him. He couldn’t take any of this seriously. He had to press his lips together and clear his thoughts before he lost it a little more with Reese’s serious face. “I can’t handle your serious face. It’s adorable.” he said in between a few chuckles. After regaining seriousness, he stared at their thumbs, trying his hardest to trap hers beneath his. “I will never give up!” he grinned at her, touching the tip of her thumb with his own but missing it in the end. “Dammit!”
