So let's lay out what I've gotten on Swiss from my previous analysis posts. 1. Swiss heavily ties his personal worth to his academic standings (today's Upd8 just has him outright admit this is the case) 2. Swiss thinks he is fundamentally a bad person, which is why he freaks out so bad about getting punished at all I don't remember the rest if there were any. Whatever. However, this upd8 lends further evidence towards Swiss sort of...being at odds with Satyrical society, funnily enough. We had little bits of this here and there, the way he treats his fellow classmates and him thinking bombing nymph spawning grounds "too extreme". But here we have him directly agonizing against the rules of this society he claims to love so much, particularly on Satanimals. Which like, I agree with him, that thing has to die, but it's...the way he's all "Oh I'd love to fucking kill this thing but I legally can't but the world would be so much better if they didn't exist even if the Exemplar likes them so much" is so fascinating. And don't think I missed the symbolism in this thing that, we could argue, represents what he dislikes about satyr society literally smashing through his dorm which he curated and designed to reflect what he likes most about satyr society. So his dorm is wrecked, he is going to totally kill that Satanimal cause we see the blood later, and like...it's literally already starting to come crashing down for Swiss. I've always predicted that Swiss would probably collapse in on himself once the game started, as the society he devoted himself to and had such big plans for will be pelted into ash by meteors, but the collapse may be coming a lot sooner than we all think. He'll kill it, and then REALLY freak the fuck out cause he just broke the law or whatever, and then he's going to have to play and it's...it's just going to be really really bad for Swiss. The fun Swiss days are over, I think. Unless you find Swiss being tortured like this fun which I imagine is like, 90% of people? I do also wanna comment on what I think is a big Swiss theme, which is Control. Having it and losing it. He tries to exercise as much control over anything he can. His friends, his classmates, his bees. And this upd8 is just kinda blowing all of that up. Swiss even loses control over himself upon seeing his poor dead bees. I think there's something classpect-y in here, but I'll leave it to more educated scholars on those matters. I'm trying to get out of the classpecting sauce but...I can't deny that it keeps trying to pull me back in and it's very tempting. Anyways. That's it. Let's hope next analysis will be TC.
