Movies:
Ok so in making this list I realized that I am completely drawn to movies that arenāt just a visual way of telling a story but use the medium to create a visual language. Usually kind of odd or eerie or a bit unsettling, with so much symbolism.
(in no particular order)
The Last Unicorn - apparently this was my fav movie when I was five. I have no recollection of this. When I rewatched it as an adult, it sure hit different. Gorgeous background animation and I love that the older female character gets to have an adventure too.
The Cell - visuals that rewired my brain
What Dreams May Come - I sob every time I watch this.
Harold and Maude - odd dark comedy from the 70ās - sad, weird, human, ultimately kind of hopeful. Awesome soundtrack by Cat Stevens.

Bonus: Lord of the Rings trilogy for the nostalgia
Second Bonus: my favorite movie I havenāt yet seen: The Fall (itās been recommended to me so many times, and has the same director as the Cell) I really need to watch it.

Aww - itās seriously so nice to be back and interacting with all you wonderful people again. I think I got kinda burnt out and lonely working on original writing and writing for Wayhaven again has been a joy.
Iām trying to remember what sparked the trioā¦ I think it was partly that the more I wrote Nate in Routine Body Maintenance the more I loved him and there kept being these little moments of āwhat ifā between him and Kat. Even if it was only in my drafts. Since RBM is definitely only staying as Mason/Kat, I needed an alternate outlet for my need to see Nate horny and desperate. But the more I worked on it, the more sense they all made together ā¤ļø
Read any good books or watched any shows recently? Also how are you today! I hope you're doing well!
Thanks for asking lovely! I am well today. My DnD group is coming over soon and weāre going to resolve last sessions (probably bad) decision to shoot a sleeping dragon.
Iāve been watching Misfits with my partner lately - a rewatch for me and first time for him. I wanted to see how they wove in a subplot for some original writing Iām working on because I remember it blowing my mind the first time I watched it. Also Robert Sheehan is absolutely hilarious in it.
I set a goal to read two books a month this year and did well until May. Last thing I read was Bury our Bones in the Midnight Soil by VE Schwab which I liked, though I wanted to like it more. On the other hand, Iām still thinking about it, so thatās something too!

Kat wipes the corner of her mouth and raises her hand like a benediction. Blood slides down her fingers.

His jaw aches. Saliva floods his mouth and he swallows. A pulse that isnāt a heartbeat beats in his fangs.
He licks his lower lip and Kat watches his tongue before slowly grazing her fingertips along his mouth. Her blood, dark and sticky sweet, smeared on his lips.

Gouache is still a little scary but I think my calling as an artist is to just paint rocks.
@turtleybeachin asked about detective lock screens and backgrounds and Katās is NOT as inspired as Noelleās (still laughing about twilight) but this is what I got (for her personal phone - her agency phone is super generic because Rebecca will probably see that and Kat does not want any questions about her personal life)

Unflattering photo of Mason sleeping, part of a retaliatory one-upping between them (Mason started it after catching Kat in the weirdest double jointed nap position on the warehouse couch and then showing everyone with equal parts amusement and genuine concern if a human should bend like that in their sleep.)

tagged by the wonderful @orianaquinn <3 worked a little on my zombieverse charlie/adam first time fic yesterday, for the first time in two months according to ellipsus, oops. i rly want to finish it, so i can work on other projects without feeling guilty, lol. so, think i'm going to make it my priority, tbh. i'm writing some of the scenes out of order, so this is from the very ending of the fic.
context for people who haven't read not yet corpses. it's a zombie apocalypse AU where nate, charlie's husband, dies in the beginning, and the fic is about her processing her grief & moving on and falling in love with adam. spoilers but they don't bang in it, so i'm writing a separate fic for that, lol
