Supplemental Rambling

Because gosh it would be a darn shame if a fanfiction writer found out about the similarities and made an AU in which Urbosa is a master earthbender, Revali a master airbender, Daruk a master firebender, and Mipha a master waterbender along with their kingdoms being the equivalent to the different nations in the last airbender with Link as the Avatar who starts out as a non-bender and has to learn all 4 elements and Zelda a non-bender (up for interpretation) yet a big scholarly nerd fascinated with the science of bending the elements and they all have to teach link how to bend all elements to defeat Ganon

God it would be just a damn shame if anyone found out!

Not to mention the fact that Daruk’s Protection is all about neutral jing. It affords you the ability to sit and wait without fear of oncoming strikes. You could maybe argue there are fire benders among the Goron people, but Daruk is an earthbender, and probably able to lava bend.

I must say, though, with the Sheikah Slate, anyone can be, not just an Avatar, but a ridiculously powered one. Two different styles of “combustion”-bending with the remote bombs, freezing a block of ice in the middle of a waterfall without the block falling thanks to Cryonis, and limited metalbending with magnesis make for an Avatar capable of specialized bending some master benders would struggle with.

If Link is an Avatar, I would suggest he is not originally an air nomad. His gliding is very limited, and while he seems to use a little bit of airbending to move short distances during a Flurry Rush, overall he seems to struggle with that discipline, leading me to believe he is of Earth Kingdom lineage. Of course, that all goes away if you factor in the bullet time bounce glitch, which I don’t.

edit: I’ve slept on it, and now I’m even more convinced Link’s lineage is earthbending for the same reason Daruk is. Think back to when Toph is first seen in the wrestling ring. Her movement is precise and very dependent on her opponent making their first strike. She sees it, with earthbending, and reacts with quick motions to attack the enemy who, from her perspective, is slowed down. Link has 2 different abilities that allow for this. The aforementioned Flurry Rush is only activated after a perfect dodge, where his timing allows him to see the world slowed down as he begins his assault. The other move is the perfect guard. Again, channeling neutral jing, Link waits for the perfect moment and is able to stun his enemy with a simple parry.

the somewhat satisfying “fixing everything I hated about the scene I wrote the day before” session

decent amount of progress that took like 3x longer than it should have because you were repeatedly distracted

In The Zone and completely absorbed, just BLAZING through a few thousand words, probably close to the ending, probably listening to playlist

the session where you write like a paragraph, suddenly realize the unfixability of your current plot predicament, and cry

that weird session where you don’t have much time and you’re super tired and you write like a page but you reread it the next morning and holy shit these words came from the fingers of god why is it so good

that session that is purely just navigating the boring shit of getting from one scene to the next and it sucks but you leave off on the cusp of something interesting and it feels good

the satisfyingly exhausting session where you write the Good Part and you’re confident it came out pretty well and you’re full of thoughts and stuff about where things are going next but you need to let them rest

Well, in terms of the Megaman franchise? We’ve never had an officially localized release, and the few official releases for games we had are the same as north america.

Non officially though, we did had a “Mega Rockman 2” released on the “Turbo Game”, which was an NES clone from back then, since Nintendo didn’t have any official representation here.

Woman: Hey honey.
