i hadn't really like. Truly thought too hard about that author's spider-fucking book so i wasn't putting individual pieces together but thanks to things people have reminded me of on that last post in this book i've realized we've got:
dark-skinned spider centaur love interest who's part of a cannibalistic incestuous spider race where the females are larger bc haha big hot abusive women
which means we've got a bunch of dark-skinned women who are incestuous sexual abusers of the males of their species
white protagonist love interest who is based off griffith from berserk looks-wise but i have also been told that character is like. a serial rapist. so maybe not the best choice
white protagonist leads dark-skinned love interest around with a rope noose around his neck
author makes 'jokes' about the dark-skinned love interest with a specifically "proud curved nose" being objectified
the sexual dynamic between the two MCs is supposed to be the dark-skinned love interest finally getting to be the rough dominant top to the pretty boy white twink protagonist
white twink protagonist is also a genocidal colonizer which i guess is supposed to be funny

maybe y'all didn't notice but fat people who don't hate ourselves sure did notice that people were obsessed with shitting on fat people in the late 90s and early 2000s (conservative political time) and now are again (fascist political time), coincidentally while the market for weight loss has become a 90 billion dollar industry due to glp1s.
you are not immune to propaganda. it makes some people a whole hell of a lot of money for you to hate fat people and fear becoming (or staying, I think like 70% or something of the US is fat) one of us.
a lot of the fearmongering over fatness comes from studies directly funded by the weight loss industry...i think people don't really realize or think about the fact that research can absolutely be influenced and skewed by its funding. there is also research that shows that an amount of the negative health outcomes for fat people come from anti-fat bias. if you go to the doctor with concerns and the doctor simply tells you to lose weight, your problem is neglected and you may not even bother going to the doctor with the next problem.
every fat person you know for the most part probably has a story like this, of medical neglect. many of the stories i've heard personally are when the complaint or the doctor wasn't related at all, like being told to lose weight at the ear nose and throat doctor or at the dentist. it's straight up just bias. it's such a thing that in the show Shrill it's portrayed, when Aidy Bryant goes to the gynecologist and her doctor suggests she get gastric bypass.
the studies on health and fatness are simply not that black and white and there is basically no research that shows that more than an incredibly tiny minority of people can lose weight and keep it off for more than like 2 years. bodies have set points that they gravitate towards, it's not a personal failure. this also is how the weight loss industry succeeds so well - repeat customers.
some of the harm associated with fatness is also due to weight cycling, which is very hard on your body and is even worse if you get off a GLP1, which according to a recent study causes weight to be regained at a rate that is 4x faster than without taking a GLP1.
you don't have to hate yourself. you don't have to hate other people for their body type either. it makes me so sad to see the thinspo tag going around again in 2026 a lot like it was back in the day.

we have got to start pushing back on the "mitch mcconnell is technically alive" shit for a multitude of reasons not the least of which being that this rhetoric directly benefits republicans who are trying to hide his death to prevent a democratic special election to replace him and risk losing his seat to a democrat. also it's giving anti-choice rhetoric to say "this pile of organs that cannot exist without external organs and is meaningfully not alive is a person that we need to give legal/political acknowledgement to". i can't believe i have to fight you all about this but he is dead, braindeath is death, stop ceding ground on this.

Author's note: this bit is what inspired the whole story, inspired by this specific post; jumping back in the story compared to the last bit I wrote, so this is early in Anna being Lilith's maid
Lilith
She leaned back against her desk, looking the other woman over. "Come here." she ordered with a curl of her fingers.
It was delightful to watch how Anna's expression flickered with all sorts of juicy emotions. Annoyance, apprehension, concern, fear... But she loved most how all of them hid themselves behind a blank mask as Anna came to stand before her.
Lilith took Anna's chin in her hand, tilting it up so she could see the pulse in her neck quicken and how it quivered when she gasped softly. She could look into those lovely defiant brown eyes for hours and never get bored...
"I think you forget, kitty, but I own you." she purred, trailing a finger down the center of Anna's throat with her other hand. She felt Anna hold back a sound as she played with the neckline of her shirt. "So if I want you to look like a walking sex doll, then you will. Understand?"
She felt Anna's trembling and quick intake of breath as Lilith kept tracing over her collarbone. To watch the defiance raise up in her eyes made her heart skip a beat.
"We don't always get what we want." Anna said through grit teeth.
Oh, she was so much fun to play with. Lilith had longed to have someone defy her for years now. And to actually have that...
Her lips pulled up into a smirk. "I do."
She gripped Anna's blouse in one hand. With the other, she took up her knife off the desk. "Stay still." she ordered sharply as Anna gasped and began to pull away.
To her credit, Anna didn't struggle as Lilith flicked the blade under each button from her neckline down to her abdomen. When she was done, there were a few buttons left and it was still tucked in, but now the lacy black lingerie bra Lilith had picked out for her was visible. Tastefully visible. Deliciously visible.
Lilith gently brushed the blade over Anna's skin. Not deep enough to cut and she was very careful not to accidentally do so with how much the other woman quivered under her touch.
When she looked back at those brown eyes, she was smugly pleased to see how they'd dilated and fallen half shut. How Anna's mouth had fallen slightly open, small little whimpers coming from between her lips. If she wanted to check, Lilith was sure she'd feel some dampness on the matching set of panties that went along with the bra.
She pulled Anna forward by her chin, brushing her lips against the other woman's ear. "This is how I want you from now on," she murmured, barely resisting the urge to do more when she felt Anna shudder against her. "Understood?"
Once Anna nodded, Lilith pushed her back again, making her stand in front of her for a moment, leisurely taking in the sight of her disheveled appearance.
"Well, get to it." she smirked, waving her hand in dismissal. "My room won't clean itself."
It took a moment, a small intake of breath and hard swallow in Anna's exposed throat. But the moment passed, defiance back on her face with a healthy amount of confusion as well. Then she was back to pointedly ignoring Lilith as she went about her duties.
Lilith found herself watching Anna quite a bit throughout the day, her thoughts wandering to how she could disarm her next.
She really was so much fun to play with.
Author's note: Lilith is so interesting to write because I know she's doing this not to be a whumper, but because she's not fully figured out consent lines yet. Like, once she realizes how this comes across, she stops, but like... she unintentionally dances the line of whumper so much because of what she's grown up with and learned from the people around her. It's just... idk. I'm having fun figuring her out, anyway

it is a free, open-source alternative YouTube front-end. in addition to not having ads, it has other great QoL features like a download button. try one of the several instances on that link up there ^^^^
so i was super pissed and concerned about this but i have just discovered that while this is true, it is apparently only true for google chrome users. i just tested this by having ten tabs open in firefox playing ten different youtube videos at the same time and my cpu usage spiked to 25% as the videos were loading and then dropped back down to 10% as they played.

how about this: when i was 9 and my stepdad beat me until i passed out and i told my friends at school, my teacher over heard and i was interviewed by cps. they also went to my house when i was at school. when i got home, my step father was waiting on the couch, and told me who visited him that day. he told me if i ever snitched again he would beat me to within an inch of my life.
how about this: my mother locked me out of the house when i was 14 and when i cried so loud the neighbors called the cops, the cop told me i should have been respectful of my mother who was trying to sleep.
how about this. the demon you know is less scary than the demon you don’t.
children in abused households are raised to fear the idea of being taken away. children in abusive households see that help makes things worse.
dont you ever blame an abuse victim for not going to the authorities.
If you know of a kid who’s being abused, just talk to them. Ask them how they feel about calling cops/cps before you even think of touching the phone. This includes “mandatory reporting” scenarios. Become a safe person for them to talk to about things that they don’t feel safe telling anyone else because anyone else will call the cops and very likely make things worse. Be someone who can offer comfort or advice when they need it. Be safety and stability for them in a chaotic and dangerous world. You may find a point where you can offer them a way out of the abuse, but only do so with their consent. They know their situation better than you do.
