Someone said "Are you really so stupid to think that Africa has the same technological advances as us? If they did they would probably have clean water and not live in houses made of sticks and mud. Get over yourself and stop being so ignorant."..... Below is a tiny collection of images of the Africa they refuse to show you..
ches
I’m sorry you’ve been made to believe that the whole of Africa is poor, I really am..
Reblogging for those of you who think Africa is only what the media and movies portrays it to be
This fucks me up because it’s scary to think that we can be showed something all our lives and not even know it’s a lie
And that my friend is the power of propaganda, indoctrination, and media
Are these pictures of South Africa or of Africa as a whole?
@the-collecting-turnip From top to bottom:
1. Port Elizabeth (South Africa)
2. Unknown
3. Nairobi (Kenya)
4. Pretoria (South Africa)
5. Aburi Botanical Gardens (Ghana)
6. Cape Town (South Africa)
7. Pretoria (South Africa)
8. Harare (Zimbabwe)
9. Windhoek (Namibia)
10. Windhoek (Namibia)
To @kushandwizdom this is a rather unfair portrayal of Africa as a whole since half of these are literally just South Africa. So Instead to add to this post and better dispel the myth of Africa as the vast wasteland of poverty most people think, I found a much more mixed collection of pics from various countries.
Luanda, Angola
Agadir, Morocco
Lagos, Nigeria
Cairo, Egypt
Port Louis, Mauritius
Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire
Algiers, Algeria
Tripoli, Libya
Dar es Salaam, Tanzania
Tunis, Tunisia
So, there, a much better case demonstrating the various major cities around Africa showing it isn’t some technologically backwards continent, but actually pretty up-and-coming in the world of commerce.
these look so beautiful omg
Lmao @ people who enforce the idea that the entirety of an absolutely humongous continent with many different countries and cultures and populations are basically Neanderthals. And I’m sure that this has nothing whatsoever to do with racism, Islamophobia, and the arrogant colonialist ideals that we can’t quite seem to shake.
Egypt is even planning to move their capital into a fancy new planned city because Cairo, which is one of the busiest and most congested cities in North Africa, is bursting at the seams.
People seem to think that it’s a wartorn wasteland because of the revolution and because it’s in the Middle East…but It’s a Beta + ranked global city, which is the same ranking as Prague, Ho Chi Minh City, Boston, Copenhagen, Düsseldorf, Athens, Munich, Atlanta, Bucharest, Helsinki, Budapest, Kiev, Hamburg, Bangalore, Rome, Oslo, Dallas, Houston, Lima, Lagos, Caracas, Auckland, and Cape Town.
Notice the amount of very modern cities on that list? Very economically prosperous cities in Europe and the US, which I note because it’s the standard that most will use for comparison?
Kampala City, Uganda
Durban, South Africa
Accra, Ghana
Douala, Cameroon
Maputo, Mozambique
Gaborone, Botswana
Kigali, Rwanda
Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of the Congo
Abuja, Nigeria
Lusaka, Zambia
Africans don’t all live in corrugated plastic shacks held up by sticks and string with cardboard beds and drink contaminated water from a river downstream from a gold mine. They don’t all have fleets of malnourished HIV-positive fly-ridden children that for Just One $Dollar A Day you can save.
Say it with me:
Not all of Africa is Advanced Poor™.
Not all of Africa is a chaotic mess full of rebel forces who will cut your breasts off.
You’re probably not going to be immediately bombed, kidnapped, sexually violated, and killed the instant you set foot on the continent.
Actual human people with cars and phones and classes to go to and things to sell and shit to do live there. They’re not NPCs for the white folk who visit.
Africa is fucking huge.
Does this (tw: poverty, racism, violence, including sexual.) mean that Africa doesn’t have its problems? No. But let’s be real here. North America is just as bad in a lot of ways.
Note: Links are not curated or in any particular order and were quickly snagged off The Google.
Thank you! You guys are constantly improving this post! Is there anyone who is living in Africa that can add??
🔥Spread Awareness, Trump should send us back..and see how America will Crumble.🔥
