I N T R E P I D

“I appreciate it,” she replied, taking a deep breath and walking towards his car.  She slipped into the passenger’s seat, pinching her lips together when the criminal began quietly cussing her out.  “Funny how he’s all talk now that he can’t do anything to me,” she muttered, smoothing her hands over the skirt of her dress as she tried to get rid of some of her nerves.  “I’m Felicity, by the way,” she introduced, offering a small smile over at Jim.

Jim smirked in amusement as the asshat heard her and scowled. He had a pleasant front row seat from his rear-view mirror. “Felicity, it’s nice to meet you.” He offered a rare smile glancing over at her. “I’m Jim, commissioner of the GCPD.” He offered in return and looked back at the road. “So uh... where did you come from if you don’t mind my asking? I just am not used to that style of cloths.” Spoke, trying not to insult her in the process. They had some stranger characters around but she didn’t seem to fit that profile.

“Take your time,” she assured him, smiling back as she adjusted her backpack straps.  “Just not too long or I’ll have to kick your ass, and I doubt the team would like me taking out one of their star players,” she joked, her smile turning into a bit of a smirk before she walked past him to head to the library.  As she waited, she continued working on a sketch of Coach Finstock she had started that morning.

He didn’t doubt for a second she would follow through with her threat, she had moves that had moves. That said, he was quick meeting with Scott in the locker room as he gathered his equipment and proceeded to head towards the library. When he spotted her the wolf slid into a seat beside her and slid his bag off his shoulder. “Dang... Coach looks possessed.” Liam teased, pulling his math book out and glancing over at the woman.

          “Okay, okay,” she started. “I won’t worry about you and your work, and I’ll text you,” she swore. With a raised brow, she gave him a look of skepticism. “No additional work tonight?” She question, wondering if that held true for the Hood or just Oliver. Though, she let it go. She would simply take him at his word. As childish as it sounded and seemed, she fought the urge to make him pinky promise. “I’ll talk to you later,” she promised quietly.

          After she had left, she wasn’t at all surprised or shocked to find Diggle coddling her. While she knew he cared, she had eventually pressed back, insisting he could go make sure Oliver was okay as they pulled up by her house. It was genuinely sweet that the boys cared so much. Though, she was tired. She knew she wouldn’t be the best entertainment to be around. 

          Once inside, the man having driven off, she shrugged her coat off and set on taking her medication before she pulled her phone out. As she set off towards her room, she shot him a text. 

          [ TEXT ] : I’m home and I took what was prescribed.

          [ TEXT ] : So now you can stop worrying about me. 

          [ TEXT ] : You also still didn’t win.

Just as requested Diggle had let him know when she was in the car and once she had arrived to her place. Of course it was followed by a text letting him know she pushed back about him staying but truthfully he expected it. He has been suffocating her enough without John’s help. She was safe now and that’s what mattered. Leaning back in his chair as she texted he smirked and shook his head before responding. 

         [ TEXT ] : I’m glad you’re safe but that’s not something I can do.

          “Oliver, there’s nothing the hospital can do,” she pointed out. “I’ve played doctor with you enough to know how to take care of myself.” NO! “Not that way,” she hissed, brows crinkling. “I really, really need to work on phrasing,” she mused more so to herself than him. “But, really, I’m going to be fine,” she pressed, standing and slinging her bag over her good shoulder. With a hesitant step, she let her vision clear as the blood rushed. Too fast.

          “I’ll text you so you know I took something because I know you’ll just fuss and worry,” she told him evenly. She didn’t need a babysitter. No doubt, John would do that enough in the car. “I promise I can manage a few hours without getting into trouble. It’s you I’m worried about,” she tried lightly, once more hoping to lessen the tension. She had no intention of sitting idly back while he worked     especially when she had been the eyes looking in during his nightly adventures. 

Of course her her comment earned her another raised brow, something she was far from new to receiving from the man after all this time. It was nice to know her rambling didn’t end with her having gotten to know him thus far. When she stood, Oliver saw the half a second more it took her and stepped to her side, a hand landing on the small of her back still keeping her distance as he looked her over. “Are you sure?” He pressed. He could have Diggle come get her but he thought that might be too much for her after her concern with other rumors too.
