Solid rolls tonight!!

Here's another match I had in the absolute/open and this was the final for Gold. At the time I was disappointed in my performance and watching back I still am LOL. Again, another tough girl I went against, even though I had weight on her. What I cringe at the most is me trying to escape her half guard for like a minute, and just going for the kimura since I was tired and desperate. I normally don't like going for Kimuras on people who are significantly smaller than me, IMO it's a strongman move that requires minimal technique. These days I just use the kimura as a threat to open other options, or use the kimura grip for control.

Heres a video from my comp in 2020, my first as a blue belt. This was the absolute/open division. As you can see, my oppenent literally was dominating the entire round. I was down by who knows how many points. Don't think I even scored one. She was solid. Ended up getting the W with a triangle in the last 20 seconds. What's really funny about this video tho is, at least from my perspective, it felt like the whole crowd was going for the other opponent, which I get! We all love seeing the smaller person beat the larger oppenent, even I do! The crowd went wild when she took me down and then the "awwwwwwwww" in unision when I finally got the triangle. But it's okay! lol

This is from Dec 2018, I was a white belt with 2 months of training, rolling with another while belt who had a lot more experience at the time. We were just doing some competition prep/rolling. I wasn't very good but it's interesting to see my older rolls in comparison of how I roll today, which I feel I've made a big improvement. I got tapped lol.

A match from a competition in March of 2020, first comp at Blue However there were no girls in my weight class :( however, one of the managers running the tournament volunteered to do a 2/3 match with me so I can have more rolls that days. She was a white belt who told me she doesn't really train gi. I appreciated the match very much and her stepping up. But she was strong and still very skillful. And of course I had some weight on her, but these girls were tough. I ended up getting the sub with an armbar from guard. During that time, it as my go to move lol. What's also funny, is that the girl I went against in this video, now trains with me at my professors new school! Hopefully I can start posting some recent footage, but at this time, old stuff is all I got since I just started training again a month ago.

so glad I got a triangle finish that day. I'm not sure if she tapped to the triangle or the armbar, because when we rolled it wasn't extended fully I just was holding onto it.

This is actually the first time I've ever hit this move. Even during training. I always knew how to do it but never had a chance. So this was cool.
