I wanted to draw something for a closer to the pairing dispute following the recent chapters. I also want to write something about this, I hope I will be understandable.
I have seen the arguments going on this past week or so, and I cannot help but think that the war in the manga is enough without figurative blood need being shed out in the fandom.
I remember where it all started for me, and I know it was the same for many of you, too. Beginning where the first series started and growing up alongside this story till now. I remember the lessons taught, and know that they have changed and shaped who I am.
Naruto was ostracized from his common kin, ridiculed for who he was and made to feel like he belonged nowhere.
Let’s not make our fellow fans feel the same. We all belong somewhere. Naruto proved he could overcome the bullying and find solace in friends. To him, having his friends close means more than anything else.
Sakura was bullied mercilessly by her classmates, stripped of her self-confidence, and down-trot until she felt worthless. Even when she had been taken under Ino’s wing, she still struggled to find her voice.
Let’s not put down others, and bully them until they want to disappear. Don’t take away their right to have a voice, because you have a voice and want to use it too. Sakura had to find her voice again, she grew to prove that she was strong. She has overcome the pain others caused her.
Sasuke had everything he cared about taken away from him, lost all that he loved, by others who disagreed with and feared his family. Those who were not willing to find a peaceful resolve, but instead decided to silence the misunderstanding with violence.
Let’s not use violence and rash behavior to silence those we do not agree with. Just because their opinion differs from yours, it does not mean they are any less worthy of happiness than anyone else. Sasuke had all that he cared about taken from him because of the disagreement stirred within the Konoha elders. We can stop another Uchiha incident by taking time to find a peaceful resolve.
I hope this makes sense. I just value the naru-family so much, this is the fandom that I grew up within. We love our ships, be them popular or not, but we should not forget to also love the characters they involve. Each of these characters have a story, stories that we can learn from.
Of course, in the end, the final decision will be made by Kishi. But, that doesn’t mean we can’t ship what we love until our hearts content. Cannon or not, we love our ships.
I love you all, my naru-family
