dani i fear i cant see in rugby at all (but maybe just the gay allegations are enough to fit her in) but i think i definitely would put her with the more art-expressing sports, including figure skating and gymnastics. maybe even throw in skateboarding and bmx because she just got that cool girl energy. i think she’d highkey rock an individual sport though (or paired skating works too)

yoonchae also definitely a cool individual sport. i think i see her as a fencer, and specifically saber. snowboarding is also up there, i definitely just see her doing something that’s technique > art. but also lowkey archery and ice hockey (goalie) i can see too

sophia as a soccer player has my whole heart (sorry i respect field hockey players but i hate playing that sport and would not wish the back bending for her). but i also can see the biathlon or triathlon or another event that makes her seem like a superhuman. but i love the idea of her being the leader in a team sport. maybe we can throw in volleyball and softball as well

i think megan would hate all the summer sports because she’s not tryna be in the sun so that kind of throws off the idea of her rowing, though i def feel like she’s fit the vibe of being on a smaller team, and i can see her doing a short distance track sport, including hurdles… maybe also sprint relays? I think snowboarding is also def a possibility, but also i can see her doing figure skating for winter. also hear me out but bobsledding

i love the idea of pole vaulter (or diver) manon but i recall seeing that video where she has a slight fear of heights so it’s throwing off the vision for me a little. sailing would be fun and i think she’d be great in a pair/small team sport; curling would def be up there as well. maybe also beach volleyball. lowkey is bowling an olympic sport too? also snowboarding because i remember seeing a pic of her in the getup. Also equestrian sports, like dressage or something

EDIT: Spain won so i’m back and i need the au to be either:

1) they’re all on team USA but have mini identity crises because they play against their own countries and also messiness with inter/intra team relations, and then team USA is performing mid but makes a comeback in semifinals and eventually win, or

like idk if its just me but i think its valid to call them out for questionable things done but like its also valid to admit that they’re also cool people for other reasons. dani clearly loves jonah and jonah is still pretty conventionally attractive (from my lesbian pov lol) and matched her style; and when i heard the otis and megan rumors, my first thought was like “omg i cant believe she might be dating the guy who wrote the sofa king song bc i love that song”
