this is a tragic question, thank you. for my series you are probably right... hard to come back from what dani said to manz. and dani's just... so repressed, and holds so much religious trauma and internalized homophobia. she needs to do some serious work on herself before she could ever come to a reconciliation with manzie, who represents kind of everything that she hates and fears about herself. first step is probably tackling some of the massive guilt she is no doubt holding onto about the falling out with her.

for maphinz, hard to overcome all the pain manon holds about trying to live up to sophia's expectations/not feeling/being good enough for her. that'll cause anyone to form a complex. and, sophia really isn't aware fully that she's doing it, but she really had manon under her boot (in series) and the way she treated her wasn't good, she held her to a very high standard where she was set up to fail no matter what she did. sophia feels like manon should be able to "control" herself and faults manon for having human reactions and emotions to things (because sophia is controlling (repressing) her own, as she has been trained to do her whole life as the golden child/parentified daughter (likely in her home life before katseye as well as in katseye). it's no wonder manon didn't tell her about dani. (in manon's heart, she thinks sophia would blame her for it... the way she blames herself).

maybe the answer is sodanon.

meichae in my series certainly has a bit of a doomed feel to it, too, doesn't it?

tho even like with sodani, they are so popular, def not a rare pair, but they were interesting to explore bc like, how do those two characters get to a place where they can be intimate together? idk. fascinating and angsty.

as per your request: what are your thoughts on the gnarly-era marzini live? it's so iconic it's like nostalgic to watch now 😭 but as I said originally there's interesting interactions there. there was also a lot of them wishing they could say certain things but knowing they can't, which I feel like they're not usually so transparent about

ah fuck ok tysm for the call out, i did not read the date, and i am glad you enjoyed the thoughts anyways. lol @ "british marz" - british marz really might be really foundational to my love of marz, i'm realizing. that was the trip where they were holding hands and gave a few interviews with very important and sweet marz moments. the "be a dragon or own a dragon" clip is very important to me. oh gosh i just went so far down a marz rabbit hole oopsies. coming back up now.

the actual live you were mentioning! is very interesting to me, mostly for the marzini interactions and dynamics. you have manon and dani with the "love you" comment and manon asks if that's part of a song, and dani's like, no, and manon gets all serious for a second and says babe to her :') danon.

also you have marz just extremely being a duo and dani feeling left out, and like, is that not the most marzini thing. manon and lara vibe on another level, they're always giggling about stuff together, and dani is like hey guys i'm in katseye too! i was recently looking at bits of that live for #research and i'm always struck by manon and dani bickering, especially manon being annoyed with dani filing her nails on the bed, and dani pointed out that the bed is already messy, and pointing out lara's makeup is on it, and manon kind of seeming to not really care about lara's messiness, it's like, dani's in particular that she's annoyed by. (marz crumbs)

also for some reason the way dani says "girl you just got back from walkin'" and "your feet stinky" really are vocal stims for me unfortunately.

also very important to me that marz kiss each other and then dani's like "what about me!?" lmao. also that's the live with dani coming out as straight! and lara and manon both just immediately clowning her so bad and clapping so much like woo dani came out as straight.

then this iconic moment where manon refuses to tell her sexuality and dani hops up and down in the background, god that part always kills me, something about dani all tiny in the background while lara backs up manon just <3 <3 <3 !!!!

then later with the kiss lara's still making fun of dani. "ew, girls, kissing!" also dani looks so fucking cute in that little matching set (cute and tiny, as lara would probably mention).

another thing i always think about when the 3 of them interact is that lara really does seem older than dani? like dani is a little tiny baby. i think about the fact that dani says she never really had girl friends growing up / before katseye all the time. she really is so pretty and talented, and she's quite awkward and like, weird, and clearly actually has some real hang ups about being excluded/left out (@tinydomino i'm thinking about your fic!) it's fascinating.

oh it's also the "what's your love language" "you" marz moment. and the "i love to eat" from lara "anything that is in front of me." they give each other the giggles sooooo bad. my marz.

omg also :') manon talking about them going to space, and saying "sophia" and then lara dies, and is like "sophia would love space" and them just absolutely dying laughing. i think in general, marz just really gets each other, like they crack each other up sooooo bad, they are so giggly together. i love them so BAD fuck.
