Hey guys. This is my new best friend. I’m making a cake.
I made my batter from scratch, and I made a strawberry yogurt frosting.
Cannot wait to see what this weird little guy looks like.
The lamb is done. The lamb is cooling.
the lamb did not come out of the pan very well. features have been lost. frosting may be needed to rescue the lamb.
Behold. My son.
hey op do you take criticism
i do not, and please don't speak to me or my son ever again
it's his day. <3
I love characters who would die for each other but will not, under any circumstances, communicate a single honest feeling.

the concept of percy and annabeth watching a marine life documentary together and annabeth is sobbing because the narrator is discussing climate change effects while sad music plays and percy is giggling because the octopus and shark have been calling each other sea slurs in almost all the footage
anthony bourdain was right, two good books and three great films per week is a life-changing practice
what will it be, boss? the comfort of misery or the pain of change?
well…….heart just broke….
guy almost dies for girl………….girl heals him…………. Huh

GUYS guys I need to talk about how much I love Ursula K. Le Guin
Ursula K. Le Guin was seeing so far in the future we're not even living in it yet. Like that woman was something else. She was the original tumblr user.
She wrote about humanoids with a heat cycle. She essentially broke gender down into "masculine and feminine" without the need for either to be tied back to "male or female." She decided to use neopronouns for the screenplay involving said humanoids. She stated in an essay on gender (related to the same book) that she was fond of a sentence she wrote, which happens to be “The king was pregnant."
In an introduction of herself, at the age of 75, she wrote that she's too old for show jumping but whether or not the same applies to sex is no one's business but her own. She claimed that she "predate[d] the invention of women by decades." She made fun of Ernest Hemmingway for killing himself.
She talked mad shit about JK Rowling. Said she read Harry Potter to see what all the fuss was about, and still didn't understand when she was done.
Despite living through WW2 and every intensely nationalistic event occurring after she was heavily interested in things like taoism and its influence can be seen throughout her work. She wrote the absolute bar: "Our curse is alienation, the separation of yang from yin [and the moralization of yang as good, of yin as bad]."
She twitter-warriored before it was cool and she did it to herself:
What else could you want in a person.
Remember when Ursula K. Le Guin called JK Rowling a nasty basic bitch back in like, 2004? We should have listened
“This last is the situation, as I see it, between my A Wizard of Earthsea and J.K.Rowling’s Harry Potter. I didn’t originate the idea of a school for wizards — if anybody did it was T.H.White, though he did it in single throwaway line and didn’t develop it. I was the first to do that. Years later, Rowling took the idea and developed it along other lines. She didn’t plagiarize. She didn’t copy anything. Her book, in fact, could hardly be more different from mine, in style, spirit, everything. The only thing that rankles me is her apparent reluctance to admit that she ever learned anything from other writers. When ignorant critics praised her wonderful originality in inventing the idea of a wizards’ school, and some of them even seemed to believe that she had invented fantasy, she let them do so. This, I think, was ungenerous, and in the long run unwise.“
i found the specific quote i was thinking of x
Q: Nicholas Lezard has written ‘Rowling can type, but Le Guin can write.’ What do you make of this comment in the light of the phenomenal success of the Potter books? I’d like to hear your opinion of JK Rowling’s writing style
UKL: I have no great opinion of it. When so many adult critics were carrying on about the “incredible originality” of the first Harry Potter book, I read it to find out what the fuss was about, and remained somewhat puzzled; it seemed a lively kid’s fantasy crossed with a “school novel”, good fare for its age group, but stylistically ordinary, imaginatively derivative, and ethically rather mean-spirited.
damn gurl :’]
“Mean-spirited” is the perfect word for harry potter…
she might not have copied anything from Le Guin but boy fucking HOWDY did she lift from Pratchett 💀
