no! we have to go now there's no time to stop ---
The thing about assassins, especially those who have been brought up since ( what amounts to ) infancy, is that they have little emotional radar. Of course she can detect the TERROR in his eyes, but she’s convinced it’s due in part to anxiety from the man she had previously confronted— not because he was some sort of rebellious criminal ( as he was being so erroneously accused ).
Being a creature of INTENSE loyalty this, of course, INFURIATES her. Katsurio is a good man, he is refined, and he is kind to her— he is NOT a criminal. How dare that slick suited STRING BEAN insinuate otherwise and sully his reputation. And because she is so fiercely protective of the very few she trusts, she shakes free from Katsurio’s grip; heading right back into Hijikata’s territory, rolling up her sleeves and flexing her ( tiny ) fists. A hornet is relentless, and she would ensure that all who stood in her way felt the fire of her venom coursing through their arteries— disintegrating their disgusting blackened hearts.
“—I said there is nothing to worry about, Katsurio. I won’t let him get away with defaming you. I won’t kill him if it troubles you, but he and I are going to have fisticuffs and I can’t promise he won’t be worse for wear.”
