Still alive, where's that paradise?

Reco eyes Isla quietly. He moves closer to her, leaning in for a kiss. Breaking it after several moments, he bites his lip before saying, “Violet’s clean now so… How about we dry her off and put her to bed and you and I can… fiddle around a bit? Imagining my entire life with you always gets me hard after a while… I can eat you out like you wanted.”

“Ohhh,” Isla says, grinning a bit. “Only if you promise to use your dick afterward. That’s my price.” She kisses Reco again before standing up to get out. She wraps Violet up in a towel and takes her to get her ready for a nap.

“Maybe… When do you want your baby shower? I’ve already got some games in mind… Am I even invited to it? If I remember, boyfriends or I guess, the partner that isn’t pregnant isn’t invited. It’s a say all for you. God, it feels weird talking about all this… I still can’t believe I’m having a child with you. Like… we made something together. An entire life. I can’t wrap my mind around that.”

“Oaklee… Isla… that’s fucking adorable. But hear me out. What if it was Oaklee Kat Energy. Maybe Kat with a C instead, though.”

“Hm… No, not feeling those… Maybe Carlie? Bailey… Just um–” Reco snaps his fingers, thinking hard. “Just anything with a Lee sound in it? God, this is harder than naming cats.”

“Eh, pick whatever gendered name. If they hate it, they’ll let us know in the future, I’m sure. But, really, we could name them anything and there’s a chance they’ll hate it.” Reco scoops up some bubbles and holds it out to Vi, already forgetting why he’s even taking a bath. “Randall’s a cool name. Reminds me of Monsters Inc.”

“I doubt Dom’s been cooking today. He’s still pretty wrecked.” Reco climbs in after them, kissing Violet’s and Isla’s heads. “I’ll make us something. I spent my alone time watching recipe videos. Do you think Violet and er… I’m not sure what to call the second kid. Just… the baby, maybe…”

“I was so gross back then. What the fuck even made you like me? I barely even talked.” Reco gently guides them to the bedroom and opens the master bathroom door for them. He takes put some sheets and changes the bed while the bath is filling. “Don’t worry about the dishes and take out boxes. I’ll clean that up for you after this.”

“I couldn’t stop thinking about her. She’s such an angel. I always tell myself how lucky I am to be raising Violet with you.” Reco licks his thumb to wipe some food off of Vi’s face. “Do you need help with the bath? I could probably use one myself. I smell horrid.”

“No… Isla, no. This is our home. I can’t fathom the thought of you leaving…” Reco gets out of his chair to hold Isla from behind. Resting his chin on her head, he rocks her back and forth soothingly. “I love you so much. I don’t hate you or anything. It was just disappointing to hear… Why don’t we take Vi and I’ll change the gross, sweaty bed sheets so we can lay together. All four of us.”

“Then can we agree, right now, that when one of us is feeling neglected, disappointed, whatever… that we either bring it up right away or the next day? I’m not good at talking… clearly… so I’m going to work on that more. But if I’m upset with you also, don’t assume that I’m going to kick you out or make you leave. I wouldn’t do that to you, especially not over a small thing like this… I’d rather have you in bed with me every night. That means so much to me.”

“No. It’s because you wanted ME to eat you out when I told you so many times I don’t want to and you pulled the pregnancy card. What do you think I am? Your slave? I’m allowed to have a bad day every once in a while. I know being pregnant feels like shit, but how could you put yourself before me on the one day I felt terrible?”

Reco’s eyes get a little watery, hating the way Isla’s talking to him about this. He bites his cheek to try and keep himself calm and says, “The way you’re talking to me about this is way more harsh than it needs to be. It hurts. Everything you’re saying is making me feel like I did something so horribly wrong when I’ve just been waiting for you to ask and apologize… You’re making this about you when it’s not for once…”

“Right.” Reco sets Violet back in the high chair. “You’re not going to bring it up, so, why are you acting so angry with me? I’m not happy with you right now, but I don’t understand why you feel the same way.”

“I missed her so much… I thought you wouldn’t let me near her again…” Reco holds her tight. There’s no one else in the world that can calm him down like his little princess… As much as he wants to stay sad, seeing Violet grin puts one on his face as well. “She smells like sweat… Did you guys go for a walk? It’s pretty hot out today…”

“You know texts only wake me up half the time… You should call or knock or just come in and wake me up…” Reco still feels upset, but he'e trying his best not to cry out. He thumbs Violet’s cheeks before picking her up and cooing quietly. He missed the girl so much, but he figured Isla wouldn’t want him anywhere near her…

It takes around half an hour, but Reco heads outside. Keeping his blanket held around him, Reco sits beside Violet and quickly glances at Isla. “Hand me her food and stuff, please…”

Isla glances back at him, rolling her eyes a bit internally. Why did he even bother coming so much later? “I already got her to eat,” is all she says, before looking back down at her phone. Her own food sits cold in front of her, with plenty more in the middle of the table. Her appetite has been shit so there wasn’t really a reason to order so much.

"You know better than me that Reco will stay on that bed until he dies. He’s probably biting his nails until they bleed, too. Being the bigger person is hard, but if you want this relationship to go back to normal, you need to break the ice… For all you know, he could be wishing you would walk right in and kiss his face, because he already misses you. Isla, I know it sucks to be the one to do it, but it needs to be done…”

“Maybe… Or maybe if something this little can break us apart then it wasn’t meant to be in the first place.” Isla stands then, ready to be done talking about this. “Thanks for trying to help. I’ll let you know what happens.”

She heads back inside and does what she said she would. She orders some takeout and sits at the table to eat, with Violet and a baby food jar beside her so she can feed her as well. After several failed attempts to feed Violet, the girl crying for her daddy, Isla sighs and gives up.
