This pride month im asking people to not be transphobic against trans men/mascs. I know it won't happen but at least i can say I asked

the most annoying thing in media right now is seeing the most toxic, self serving, racist/sexist/homophobic/transphobic/etc character in a story and then looking to the fanbase and seeing the majority go "oh that's me lol."

like im a firm believer of "fictional tastes don't inherently reflect a real life person's beliefs" but also that comes with the caveat of "fictional tastes can say something about a real life person, it just kinda depends on why that person likes that fiction"

and if you look at a character who constantly harasses other characters, never apologizes, and continues to justify their actions without remorse, and go "oh lol that is so me" without any further explanation as to why that's you -- i wouldn't automatically denounce you but i would keep you at a distance. preferably with a 6 foot pole

i was just reminded of how many people dislike courtney/visi dispatch bc she sexually assaults the main character. which like yeah ok i get that perspective but also i dont think there's a main character in that game that hasn't assaulted robert either sexually or physically (besides chase?), or at least tried to. and tbh i just find that kinda funny (annoying as hell double standard esp in the context of invisimech vs flambert shippers)

im not gonna rb the post bc im not interested in this kinda smoke at this hour, and truthfully i dont think this was the op's intention, but theres this post where the op implies that white girls have never been treated as an aggressor. and like i understand the point they were making abt how white/light skinned girls are treated differently (i.e. better) than darker skinned/black girls, and yeah i agree generally. but as a poc i gotta say -- they absolutely treated fat white/light skinned girls and "people-raised-as-girls" as aggressors in school. i literally watched it happen in real time. both other teens and adults would treat them as a bomb waiting to go off. it was worse when you were fat and masculine. even worse if you had some muscles along with being fat.

"bu fat/masc poc girls have it worse" i can already hear, and yeah i totally agree. im also saying that a fat girl's whiteness wont stop them from being treated as an aggressive person. so please don't try to imply that whiteness is a free ticket from being treated badly bc that was absolutely NOT true for many of the fat white/light skinned girls and people-raised-as-girls in my life.

actually im still very frustrated at the post i saw complaining about KPDH's "Golden" winning the oscar for best original song from Sinner's "I lied to you". The thing is I do genuinely like "I lied to you" and "Sinners" as a whole much more than KPDH or "Golden". and yes it does suck that kpop takes a lot from black music and culture and that definitely played a part in "Golden" getting recognized. But that kinda complaint forgets about the fact that (1) one of the four oscars "Sinners" got was the oscar for "Best Original Score", and that score includes "I lied to you"; and (2) "Golden", and a lot of the KPDH songs for that matter, topped song charts in real life. people were singing them for weeks. they still are. to say that it doesn't deserve the win feels like a joke. it just feels like making a big deal about nothing and then sprinkling in a bit of anti-asian sentiment for flavor
