Chilean Miner Pena Gets Dream Come True, there will Meet Elvis in Las Vegas
Some good things never die. They live on and on. Such is the case with Elvis Presley, instrumental in keeping one caught Chilean miners, Edison Pena alive for an unprecedented 69 days.Beneath surface of the earth down a mile and a half below, Edison Pena found himself, along with 33 fellow comrades in Phase one of a mighty miracle. After the collapse of the San Jose gold and copper mine in northern Chile, Atacama desert, come all 33 of the miners from the dust and dirt is alive and well. Phase two of this mining miracles, rescue, went smoothly on Wednesday. (You have to see Edison's afraid the video again here!) Awesome! Edison Pena, 12 miners to get out of the incredible pain, was an avid runner, keeping fit by jogging through the open tunnels had collapsed. The 34-year-old married miner was also a big Elvis fan. Elvis Presley Enterprises got wind of this and in an effort to help Pena make it through the day and night until his rescue sent the CDs of "The King's" music, movie, a book to read, and sunglasses. Among the Elvis movies Pena enjoyed: "Jailhouse Rock" and "Viva Las Vegas". Elvis Pena was the inspiration in these dark days buried alive.Well Pena can start singing "Viva Las Vegas" because he and his wife have been invited, compliments of Elvis Entertainment, Inc.. The Official Elvis of Las Vegas, Jesse Garon, will host the Chilean miracle miners in a VIP, five-star welcome that includes superior accommodations, tickets to see top acts, buffets, Showgirls, and a chance to meet "The King". Pena will renew their vows with Elvis in a 1955 Pink Cadillac in the famous "Welcome to Las Vegas" sign. Sweet! Of course, Pena is probably "All Shook Up," about the trip to the entertainment capital of the world. So was Jesse Garon, reigning Vegas Elvis, to the point of tears. So emotionally moved by the entire study in the Chilean desert, Garon Pena wanted to come to Las Vegas, a fun place for a superior experience in the desert. "How the men survived is nothing short of a miracle," Garon said. "All the Elvis community and fans everywhere are bound together and inspired by the miner trapped underground since first hearing about the hell of" The King "on the up." Pena reported to be one of the most depressed of "Los 33 ' (The 33 trapped men) that requires a photograph of the sun when rescuers were able to send them food and rations. To make the dream clearly showed Elvis Pena an invite to the Elvis Graceland property, all expenses paid by Elvis Presley Enterprises. Representative Kevin Kern plans to give Pena a tour of the Memphis mansion, the graves of Elvis and his family, and several exhibitions all due. Kern said, "We will make him feel like a rock star." (No pun intended). Garon was so affected that he felt compelled to pay for Pena trip to Las Vegas itself, expresses that any miners deserve the best. When Pena and his wife arrive, they can expect to be showered with attention, care, like all good Las Vegas has to offer. No doubt the Chilean hero and his wife will have a "red carpet" experience with all the food, excitement, entertainment, plus bright light (which will make Pena days!) And lots of activities. Hiking the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu
Each day, LiveOutThere is asked to advise on the best roads to adventure. Most of our team has traveled around the world. Many came to Calgary from other countries with their own fabulous memories. As a group, we are quite qualified to advise our clients on adventure destinations.Taking a break from spreadsheets and cash flow, George and I engaged in a difficult discussion to decide our favorite adventure trek. The Skyline Trail in Jasper and British Columbia West Coast Trail makes our short list along with a hike up Kilimanjaro and trekking in the Annapurna and Khumbu Valley in Nepal. Then we weighed all factors, including remoteness, time, geographic beauty and cultural interest, and the difficulty and overall costs, and we both settled on Peru. Our favorite trip - hiking the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. The trek of 45 km in four days along the Inca Trail is not the Himalayas, but it's difficult. Peru is far away, but no one needs only a month to manage the logistics of travel. There are many flights from Calgary to Houston, Houston, loose in Lima and Cuzco. At worst there are some changes in time zones, and no jet lag, so you can hit the ground running - or crawling if you're not careful dramatic elevation of Cuzco. Acclimatize for a day in restaurants in Cuzco. There is a nice variety of flavors and fun. Everything is delicious - almost. If Lama appears on the menu ... jump. We tried it fried, baked, slow BBQ'd and hammered into ground meat. Nothing could soften his endurance or improve its coffee between each taste. In live music that you should not miss walking in the middle of the old architecture along every street and every corner of the city. Then place the Aztec ruins along the trail and enjoy the distinctive Andean peaks that soar above the valleys richly beautiful. This trip offers equal measures of historical and geographical wonder. The Inca Trail is busy. You will share your campsite with several hundred others. Surprisingly, we did not mind. The wide variety of hikers and lively conversation only adds to our experience. This trek is also fully portering and catering, and we lounged in it. There are a thousand places of adventure where you carry everything on your back. There is no shortage of opportunity to cook a pot lunch and dinner at the freeze-dried. Here, help is not available, it is mandatory. A guide must accompany all groups as prescribed by the Government of Peru. We were happy for the company and assistance, and we believe he made that trip more affordable and less experienced hikers guide backpackers. Our night was an absolute pleasure. She was friendly. She exuded warmth and charm. And is willing to share everything she had learned during four years of study and preparation it took to get the job. There was another advantage that we had not counted on. With local guides on the track, people seem less inclined to abuse the rules. With so much traffic there is no small concern for the environment. The guides we've seen all worked hard to keep up actions sometimes crazy hikers to reduce their huge impact, we suggest you book your own group included. We and we can point you in the right direction. We booked a group of three to include one of our investors LiveOutThere.com, Darrell Jones, and we walked the trails with our guide and porters. I felt something of a traveler at the turn of the century Columbia, all settings and tea table in the middle of dense subtropical rain forest. With my small backpack and lighter, I quickly about myself. Our small group had the speed and flexibility when necessary. We could be the first to arrive at the camp, or the last to arrive at the intermediate station, as the moment dictated. The private plane we were on a bit more expensive but well worth the investment.Better some other peaks difficult in many ways, and more incredible that even the Khumbu base camp, the trip on foot ends more amazing places. Sure, you can take a train to the famous Inca ruins, but it's like riding a ski lift or helicopter of fresh powder. I did both and there is a place for it, but not here. The last day of your trip you up before dawn to hike in the dark at the Sun Gate is where you sit on the ancient rocks cut waiting sunrise to greet you in the lost city. Soon the sun pours on your shoulders and slid down into the valley of the river deep cut. Among the shadows and the dawn of a new light on the mysterious mountain sanctuary takes shape. Amid the ghosts of the Incas in the 17th century, you now stand - having won some your way - the ruins of Machu Picchu.Try as they can, or gunshots glossy promotion or documentary films to big budget can capture this place. There are few places or experiences that can surpass the brilliance of your own imagination.Machu Picchu is one such place.

Flying in Antarctica: Adventures in Antarctica
As technology improves and the world becomes smaller, unexplored places in the world has become less and less, but in reverse, wild places becomes more accessible. Antarctica remains one of the few unspoiled areas of land, a continent that desolate landscape of ice and rock, beautiful to look at, difficult to reach. If you are a tourist and you're tired of Bangkok and Jamaica and the French Riviera then a visit to Antarctica would add a little spice to your travels. The easiest way to visit Antarctica is to join a cruise ship, which takes you to the edge of the continent, and let you see the ice and play on the boundaries between seals. But penguins and Antarctica is a vast continent, and to get into the only practical way for tourists is to go through the air, and go through the air the only people who can go Antarctica is the Logistics and Expeditions, or soda. ALE is the descendant of the ANI, Adventure Network International, the company formed in 1984 by Giles Kershaw. Giles was an experienced pilot of Antarctica (having flown for five seasons with the British Antarctic Survey and then help Ranulph Fiennes and Charles Burton I in the Transglobe Expedition from 1979 to 1982) when he was approached by two wealthy climbers wanted to climb the highest peak top of Antarctica, the Vinson Massif. They succeeded, and since Kershaw was in the business of Antarctic tourism. They found a place to land aircraft on wheels, a stretch of blue ice-free due to soft snow of a mountain called Patriot Hills where they could establish a base from which one could reach the rest of the continent by the skiplane, Giles Kershaw died in a gyrocopter crash in 1990, but his wife Anne continued to work until the company was sold to Grand Expeditions in 2003. Grand Expeditions in their inexperience could not make things work, and announced that there would be no flights to Antarctica for the 2003-2004 season. This was a disaster for the people who had been planning expeditions. Upon entering the rape was a group of former employees of the ANI, gaining the experience of Mike Sharp. ALE ANI later bought Grand Expeditions and now runs as subsidiary.ALE package tour company, may have to visit the South Pole, or to increase Vinson. I'd recommend against these visits. Vinson is primarily a three-day, very cold, walking uphill and most of the time you're waiting for the weather to clear so that you can fly from Patriot Hills and back Vinson. The South Pole is an industrial complex on the plateau polar. Science is very interesting, but the scenery is boring, it is overwhelmingly cold, and a place in the polar plateau is much like any other. If you are interested in wildlife, not to visit the Emperor penguin colony at the Dawson-Lambton Glacier with a professional ornithologist. ALE will get you there at the peak of the breeding season. At the time sea ice has retreated enough for cruise ships to reach the colonies of penguins penguin chicks are half-grown, and much of the activity dispersed. The other colony I can recommend is Antarctic tour of a week of skiing around the Ellsworth Mountains. This would give a good experience of Antarctica, camping at "night" and eat rations cooked frozen sled in his tent and ski 'days' through spectacular mountain ranges and ice fly valleys. If ALE Antarctica, that'll do it from Punta Arenas, Chile's southernmost city, located in the Strait of Magellan. While you're there you might want to visit the penguin colony at Seno Otway, or visit the Torres del Paine, a great number of peaks. You may have to do this because the weather in Antarctica is not often leads to fly, and is usually not enough wind on the wrong runway, or too much snow or it's too cloudy. But the people of ALE maintains constant vigilance over time, and as soon as conditions are suitable, the flight will be called. At Punta Arenas Airport you'll board an Ilyushin Il-76 aircraft, operated by a Russian crew. These aircraft are used for heavy operations worldwide, and crews have thousands of hours of experience in the type. You ll 'be collected by bus from the hotel, and you will be dressed in cold climate gears, because where you get off the airport property will not building. The heated in the plane is not like an airliner. This is a cargo plane, but designed to have accommodation for 50 or more paratroopers. There is a row of benches on each side of the plane, and probably will be sitting with your feet together with the load, which will be tied on the floor of the cellar. There will be oxygen masks in case of depressurization, and life jackets and seat belts, as in a normal airliner, but the procedures are different, so pay attention to the instructions of the loadmaster. There not much to see in within the aircraft hold, for the portholes are high on the sides of the aircraft, but if you have the time, ask the head of charge if the browser can see the nose of the aircraft. It has windows on the ground, and offers one of the best views of the landscape below an aircraft. However, do not be disappointed if you can not see anything: In this part the world is known for its bad weather, and most likely only be able to see a layer of clouds. If you are lucky you will see the icebergs that float in the Drake Passage or later, all the bright white ice of Antarctica flight cap.During ALE staff prepares fresh sandwiches for you to eat it to their liking as they go from hotel to airport and the aircraft will have taken a couple of hours and any food that might have had to be a memory long forgotten. The flight will last approximately four hours, so once they have eaten, relax, read a book, or try to get some sleep. You can even find a soft spot for landing cargo nap.For be tied to his seat again, so will not be able to see anything. (He sits on the nose is prohibited and is not recommended because it is only glass and will be a death trap in case of an accident.) The plane will land on the ice, which offers very little friction wheel landing gear, and as the plane slows down and can no longer be led by the helm, the move could be a little brusque management and pilots of the plane by differential thrust engines. Then there will be a long shoot, and that the aircraft back from the end of the runway in the discharge position. Be patient, and stay seated. The ice that is being shot is not smooth, and a blow could easily pull their feet. Finally the plane come to a standstill, and the doors will open. It will be daylight outside, no matter what the clock says it is, because during the flight that have crossed the Antarctic Circle, and now you're in the land of the midnight sun. The weather will be good, because if I would not be flying. You must meet ALE staff that will guide the rear of the plane, loading ramp, and on the ice. You breathe the cold air, cold, you are squinting against the glare of the ice, you will feel the crisis of snow underfoot, and you know you are having an affair.
