Woke: Fëanáro won't be reembodied until Dagor Dagorath because he won't be healed until then.

Miriel who love Feanor like Feanor loved the silmarils . Obsessively. Jealously . Claiming ownership over his person .

Miriel who insist on having him sit at the feet of her chair like a child would while she weave . If it was anybody else he would have raged and refused but she is his mother .

Miriel who dont allow anyone , not finwe , not his sons , not the people who loved or hate him to go near him (her halls are secluded ), because she want him for herself and herself alone (she gave sooo much for him , she deserve it )

Fëanaro seeing the way his tiny nephew looks longingly at the animal that Makalaurë carries and so sewing Findekano a little eagle all his own.

(Only because he doesn’t want the son of Nolofinwë to steal Makalaurë’s toy, of course. The pleading eyes and bright grin upon receiving the gift have Nothing To Do With It.)

Continuing the tradition for each new child born to the family, until there is a veritable menagerie of stuffed animals.

Idril giving hers to Eärendil, who in turn tucks it into the crib of his sons.

(It is always warm. Warm as though it is lit up by something inside, some feeling that Idril’s great uncle would forever deny. A warmth that had been invaluable on the Ice.)

A soft toy that, though patched and worn, is recognisable to those attacking the children’s home.

What if Fëanor makes all of these toys because he found a half finished one from his mother that was intended for him? (In this case, we’re talking not Shibboleth Míriel, so she dies earlier.)

And Fëanor has never truly owned a stuffed toy of his own. Not one with the warmth and life of the maker sewn into it at any rate. When this toy that has been loved by so many children and their children and their children’s children comes back to him, it is not as warm for him as it was for them. It does not truly belong to him.

And so, Elrond comes into Valinor. Maybe Fëanor has been reembodied (perhaps not). Either way, somehow they meet and Elrond discovers the origin of the soft toy that was passed to him from his father. He discovers why Fëanor started making them in the first place.

Elrond makes Fëanor a soft toy of his very own. It’s a little wonky; some of the stitching is out of place and there is a little stuffing poking out of one of the seams. But Elrond pours so much warmth into this squishy little stuffed animal because he remembers the warmth of his own stuffed dog shaped toy with the worn ears and soft paws that helped him through several tough nights as an elfling.
