Prompt: Sharing ice cream

Sonny was always in the mood for ice cream, it didn’t matter the time of the year. Today though was one of the days Sonny really wanted ice cream. Sadly, all the local places were clothes due to being winter and some were also closed due to the weather. Sonny frowned as he went to the local Whole Foods to buy some ice cream.

He smiled when he saw there was one pint of pistachio ice cream left and swiped it off the shelf. He thought about Rafael and searched for a coffee flavored pint. Once he grabbed a pint of that, he headed to the check out then headed home.

“Rafi?” Sonny called through the apartment. Rafael was sitting on the couch, doing some crosswords. Rafael looked over at Sonny with a large smile.

“Hey, mi amor. What do you got there?” Rafael asked as he watched his husband. Sonny set the two pints on the counter and grabbed some bowls and spoons.

“Ice cream! You want some? I got you coffee flavor.” Sonny smiled as he got the ice cream scoop and began to put the separate flavors in the two different bowls. Rafael smiled as Sonny walked into the living room after putting the ice cream away. Handing the bowl over to Rafael, Sonny settled beside him on the couch.

“Thanks, Dominick.” Rafael placed a kiss to Sonny’s cheek as he grabbed the ice cream and began eating it.

“You wanna try some of mine?” Sonny offered their green ice cream to his better half. Rafael looked at the ice cream before digging his spoon into Sonny’s pistachio ice cream. Sonny smiled as he watched Rafael enjoy it as he offered the coffee ice cream to his lover.

Criminal Hatred (Season 14,Episode 12) is one I episode I can watch over and over again for so many reasons, which I've listed below.

1. Rollins and Olivia joking about Finn and Nick "They make a cute couple" made me chuckle. I loved how into the role Finn got. '... I'm a Fashionista'

2. Amanda and Finn going to the dance bar, a dancer recognising him and Finn's comment "From my undercover days" with Amanda's response "You undercover name was Detective Tutuola?"

3. Barba, white shirt, top buttons undone, no tie... Looking good! Plus his facial expressions were so animated.

4. When Nick makes the comment about the victim kissing Jones and Benson chides Nick, Barba looks half intregued and half like 'awkward'.

5. Rafael Barba Vs Minonna Efron.

"I'm sorry, where did Mr Jones find you?" Barba

"I hand out cards at the village Halloween parade" Efron

"Admirable" Barba's snarky answer

Liv and Amaro sharing amused looks.

I really liked her character. Deceptively meek and appeared unprepared/less qualified. I felt Barba thought he was in for an easy win.

6. When Barba walked off after that conversation, almost flanked by Benson and Amaro like his personal staff.

7. Amaro's comment about leaning on the 'Live in boyfriend' having stolen medication in his underwear drawer and Barba's look of "what proof?" with Amaro answering "They were monogrammed" and another shared look of amusement between Amaro and Benson.

8. Barba asking all the questions about the marriage licence while walking with Benson and Amaro, Benson looking mildly amused, but wondering how appropiate it would be to challenge it and Amaro is like "Should I be asking that?" and he genuinely looks uncomfortable. Benson is more a 'I can't believe his asking me to do this'. Then Barba saying he'd cross examine the priest of a straight marriage.

9. Efron's look of pride when she gets one over on Barba as to whether the certificate is valid. Barba looking mildly impressed.

10. Benson, Finn and Barba brainstorming "You can't use Masons testimony in court, but you can use it to investigate. Right?" "That's legal" Barba agrees then Finn's comment when Benson said Mason was given 'Gifts' by women. "This guy would steal accorns from a blind squirrel"

11. Hunk Night 2 - Amanda's reaction to the men as fireman made me chuckle and Finn had a moment of banter plus Jones worried the bag might have 'Female Cooties'

12. Barba's comment to Benson about her finding him,the fact that Jones only targets gay men and his excitement about it. "Sit, Drink, Smile" which if I was Liv, and it had been anyone else I'd have decked him though it was said in an almost playful manner, and Liv's look of bewilderment, then monetarily refusing his request before almost shrugging her shoulders with an 'OK I need to know more' expression before ordering a "Cabenat". Prob one of the best Barson moments EVER.

13. Barba's excitement at being able to use the Hate Crime stature and Benson's comment "You're going to argue that a gay man, married to another gay man, hates gays?" and Barba's cocky comment "Watch me". So much confidence. I think this is what I love most about this episode, he is so confident.

14. Efron's look of fake innocence when the judge pulls her up on the opening argument, and Barba's knowing look. I don't normally like defence but she is very good.

15. Nervous Barba (Waiting for the jury) just makes me go 'He really believes what his arguing "

16. Barba's look to Benson was almost 'Im sorry' and Benson's look wasn't disappointment, but acceptance at the mis trial decision.

17. "Let's get him for murder!" Benson

"That would be delightful, have you conjured up some evidence?" Barba

Then Benson and Amaro working as a team to find a way to get Jones. Formulating a plan together. I honestly love these 2 and their partnership. Then Barba following the train of thought and joining in. That was a really example of amazing team work between the ADA and Detectives.

18. Mason in shock at the bracelet. I think he was so determined not to believe it but then the inscription 'I live you madly' broke his heart.

19. Mrs Dunluvey talking to Mason, she was so understanding and sweet. I honestly just wanted to hug her.

20. Then all the comments at the end "He doesn't just hate gays" "He hates everyone" then Barba saying "No he hates himself" was the perfect conclusion.

So yeah a break down of one of my favourite episodes because of the humour, the will, the way the unit and ADA worked together. It was in my opinion the perfect SVU episode. What did you think?
