Mahoutokoro teaser pic #1 is finally posted!
Iām finally doing it, Iāve been working on the fic for weeks (okay years on and off) and Iām finally ready to share a preview of the stuff Iāve been piecing together. My Mahoutokoro AU is a Digimon/Harry Potter crossover set in the magical school of Mahoutokoro located on the hidden continent Kakusu (made up using a few creative liberties). The main conflict stems from Muggleborn students being allowed into the school for the first time. Some pureblood witches and wizards arenāt exactly happy about that. The fic features spooky stuff, good and evil yokai, made up Japanese-themed classes like shodo, Patronuses are yokai-only for Japanese wizards, more magical stuff.
The main theme is rebellion.
The pic above details Taichi, Jyou, Yamato and Koushiroās Houses (again, made up with creative liberties - I know the Mahoutokoro blurb on Pottermore doesnāt mention any Houses, but I just had to put some together). Be sure to look at their kamon (the sigil things) on their robes, their designs turned out awesome lol. Here is a summary of the Houses and a character description for each of the guys -
West - Byakko House - autumn. The Byakko white tiger represents the virtue of righteousness and bravery. The prince Yagami Taichi is reckless, outgoing, and has a temper, but is a great older brother to the princess and a star Quidditch player on the Byakko House team. Pureblood.
East - Seiryu House - spring. The Seiryu azure dragon represents creativity, authority, and benevolence. Cold and aloof, Ishida Yamato keeps everyone at a distance except for his best friend, Kido Jyou. He dreams of becoming a musician and pursues this goal despite criticism from the wizarding half of his family. Half-blood.
South - Suzaku House - summer. The Suzaku vermilion bird represents propriety and tradition. The new class president, Kido Jyou is often (always) found studying in the library late into the night and wakes up early to do it again. His father, the Master Healer at the hospital, pressures him to do well in school and make the family name proud. Pureblood.
North - Genbu House - winter. The Genbu turtle represents purity an intelligence. Katou Koushiro may be new to the school, but he surprised everyone when his robes turned gold the very first day. He is on a mission to learn everything he can about the wizarding world and is indifferent to the controversy regarding his blood status. Muggleborn.

The second teaser pic will feature the girls + Takeru (and a mysterious OC oooo) in the same sort of fashion as above.
I have the outline for the first arc (spring term) done. This arc focuses on Taichi, Koushiro, Sora, and Hikari, but that doesnāt mean the other characters are non-existent, itās just easier to introduce them slowly by focusing on a few at a time. Iām about six chapters in! (Pairings are hidden from now but one should be obvious from my username/avatar haha)
I donāt want to give a definite timeline on when I will be posting the fic (I like to have a good head start on my fanfics before I start posting in case I have to change some early details) but I will continue to post teaser pics and excerpts.
The fic will be posted on fanfiction.net and AO3.
