In honor of us working toward our next stretch goal, an original FLY theme song, I wanted to share the playlist that helped shape the story while I was developing it.

A lot of these songs became part of FLY’s DNA. They helped me find the story and the feeling of freedom at the heart of Eli’s journey.

Any theories about which songs inspired certain moments?

I also think we should be telling trans women also that being in massive amounts of pain on your period Is Not Normal and the suffering is not Part Of Womanhood.

Same as how we do T shots every week now, rather rhan every 2 weeks, because that caused violent mood swings, but it got written off as 'normal puberty / manly hormone anger', so it took a while for people to realise it wasn't normal.

Trans women, also, should not accept that you will be in pain and suffering every momth forever in order to have the hormones you want.

Solving that problem is a whole other can of worms but like. Begging people to not normalise periods as obligatory suffering or part of being a woman.

It really is supposed to be a day or two of mildly uncomfortable cramping and being a little sensitive. You should not need to take painkillers mutliple times a day for a whole week for your period. Probably take some iron I guarantee your body's doing some wierd shit even without having a uterus.

FROG: I counted seven, once.

CATS'N: Perhaps you ought to have your timepiece checked!

If on a middle heat you place the cup

You soon will have the scalding drink you crave.

Two minutes, in a mug upon the plate

Or even less, if you should have a pot.

FROG: You cause me tears - is this how thou dost live?

You place upon the iron stove a mug?

A mug, ceramic, filled with water cold?

How do these flames, though medium in height,

Not shatter like a glass this fragile thing?

Surely, then, your kitchen is bewitched

With magicks far beyond the mortal ken!
