 Backpacks - known in Europe more generally as backpacks - are a central part of walking equipment - but with so many on the market, which do you go for? The material is usually again nylon, although a heavier class than daysack. They will have the big bag, two or more external pockets that should have storm flaps beyond the zipper, and are much more weather resistant than daysack. The main bag will again be closed by a drawstring and stay-tight switch but the top cover will be thicker and far more water resistant. It may also include a pocket as well and there's usually ice-ax belts mounted on the outside back of the backpack, along with different 'd-loops "for attaching a tent or sleeping bag. The size of the backpack is adapted to more serious hiking with maybe a night or two. Large backpacks are generally in the range of 100-150 liters (and it is great!) But the design is similar to medium backpacks, even though they obviously have more room and more pockets. The size of the backpack is normally only used for serious hikes that can last many days and will hold everything you need for this kind of extended expedition. Medium and large backpacks may be of different material weights, from very light nylon up to really thick Cordura-type material that is very tough. They can also be fitted with waterproof liners for many now come with "Gore-Tex" type feed by default. The weight and durability of materials is determined by the conditions that you think you can experience - It makes no sense to have a backpack that will be an Arctic winter, if you normally walk in Nevada this summer! My favorite is the majao that looks like Jambalaya, and served with charque or dried beef. You are served fried eggs on rice, and fried plaintain of the page. For the ridiculously low prices, you can feast on tender Argentine beef and the mouth watering rice and cheese. Most places serve steak also fried yucca, and various salads. If you want steak, I'd suggest Don Miguel's, Los lomito. For a slightly more expensive menu and a taste of Italy, I would suggest Michelangelo. After eating, you might want to visit the strip of cafes and bars located between the Palacio de Justicia and El Cristo. The Irish Cafe is across the street from the main square is a great place for atmosphere. Bolivia is the second poorest country in the Western Hemisphere, after Haiti. It is also the world record for political coups. There is not much anti-Americanism in Bolivia, or Santa Cruz. Enormous progress has created stability and security for most of Bolivia. The Internet also allows those of us who are smart enough to know when to look for a top travel agent with expertise and knowledge (skills KEE) of destinations and activities about where to find them. There is no need to use only our local agents when you can find elsewhere in the world. When it is not necessary "knowledge" and can do it ourselves, just surf the web so that we can book directly with tour operators and travel where we decided to go. Some travel agencies that operate their own tours, some are wholesale and retail, some limit consumer choice only the sale of its "preferred" suppliers and some professional consultants with years of experience invested in obtaining knowledge, experience, knowledge and worth their weight in gold for the traveler. Be careful, as some are also known as destination specialists and some of these names are merely require the agent to undergo a rudimentary test offered by the tourism offices, destination marketing groups, and even tour operators, and my opinion, can damage the reputation of the travel industry.
