Well, at least the man could keep up with him. Vanitas grasped his twin Keyblades tightly and launched himself at the incoming Heartless. He slashed at the creatures and then slammed his blades into the ground, releasing a wave of Light and Darkness against his foes.

The pitiful looking creatures were either sent flying off or were obliterated, all that was left of the creature was a small pink heart, floating off into the distance. Vanitas felt his heart ache at the sight of this, was Xehanort still cultivating all those Hearts? Were the Keyblade wielders still aiding him, even if they don’t mean too? 

“Whenever Hearts begin to succumb to Darkness.” Vanitas finally manages to answer the man. He fired a Dark Firaga out of Void Gear before looking to the man. “It’s too fucking complicated to explain.”

     Cid may have been getting up there in years, but he was by no means a pushover. One by one, he disposed of the Heartless. He ran them through or launched them away with a skilled spin of his spear. In the midst of the battle, he glanced to the boy. He had power and was certainly not afraid to use it. But was it power of his own or did it come from those odd weapons of his?

     He let out a short yelp as a Neoshadow’s claws slashed at his back, leaving three bloody cuts in the back of his shirt as a result of his distracted mind in battle. But as he turned his weapon against it, it sank into the ground, like many of the small ones. This left the blond surprised. The abilities these things had was nothing like home. The beast rose from the ground, giving Cid the chance to destroy it, which he did quickly.

        “Who am I?  Oh, my name’s Axel.  Commit it to memory.”  The smirk on the redhead’s face seemed to be almost as if at a private joke,  Then he continued.  “I didn’t know your name.  Call it a lucky guess.  Or maybe, it’s because there’s a guy who looks a hell of a lot like you, same potty mouth and funny accent, in Radiant Garden, and his name is Cid.”

“General pains in the ass.” Vanitas retorts back as his eyes go back and forth between the man and the Heartless squished underneath his foot. He rubbed his forehead as he inhaled the scent of Darkness approaching them once again. His amber eyes flashed as he clutched his twin Keyblades, Void Gear and Salvation. “They’re called Heartless and there’s more coming. Once they’re taken care of, we can talk more about it.”

     Heartless? Sounded like some punk band if you asked him.  His boot came crushing down on the poor, pitiful creature. After it erupted into a burst of dark energy, he glanced to the other’s weapons. Strangest swords he ever saw, and he’d seen some pretty wild ones.

        “So your name isn’t Cid?  I don’t hafta ask if you swear like a sailor, ‘cause you already answered that one.”  The redhead crossed lean arms over his chest, the chains on his ominous black coat jangling melodically.  “This is Twilight Town.”
