i think there is something so poetic about the fact that the dice were so insistent on this being comfrey’s story. that this is how she ends. despite the crew’s every effort, every last desperate attempt to bring her back, this is how she goes. and it’s exactly how she wanted to go, too. fighting for a better world, in a blazing fire of weird science. she always knew her story would end like this. comfrey macleod was always going to go out fighting. there is no changing this moment. she won’t come back. she wouldn’t want to.

i REALLY like how zac just clearly fully checked out once comfrey died. he just starts going like, what's happening? monty or van ask him what he's doing and he says i- i don't know. pappy throughout this season has been so incredibly calm and collected. a pillar of coolness. aloof and unyieldingly measured. and here is a moment where, for the first time, he just seems like an old, old man.

gonna stick with me how the gotch family was basically a joke until fucking longspot destroyed ludmila's heart out of cruelty ignorance and greed, and then we got the emotional weight of all the PCs and the DM moving the sky to have goodness win despite that empty violence. there were a hundred rerolls and help actions and sacrifices and in a way it's like it's part of the point- even if the dice don't give you the outcome you were hoping for, sometimes why take it and move on when we're having to take it in the real world all the time, especially now. keep hoping, keep thinking up creative options, keep trying everything. and just this once, in this story, goodness won. it didn't get out unscathed, but it still won.
