I just spelled women as “wemon” and it sounds a bit like a fantasy character name
Just a tip for my trans sisters trying to make their developing bodies passable!
Please signal boost this! I feel its a very useful tip for any trans woman (especially one early in her transition like me) to ease gender dysphoria!!
@dasha-loses-it, just in case this can help?
I can’t personally vouch for it, but maybe a petticoat could also help in conjuction with the skirt thing! They’re designed to make the skirt flare outward, which could help give the look of wider hips.
“You’re way too outgoing to have anxiety!”
“You’re way too happy to have depression!”
“You’re way too caring to have antisocial personality disorder!”
“You’re way too nice to be bipolar!”
“You’re way too sweet to have borderline personality disorder!”
“You’re way too smart to be autistic!”
“You’re way too normal to have dissociative identity disorder!”
*throws up*
“You’re way too good in school to have ADHD!” yikes
Yeah, please stop saying stuff like this to people. First of all, not every autistic person or person with anxiety/depression/BPD/ADHD/etc is the same. Second, when you live with these things, you learn to mask them. If someone trusts you with this information, please don’t immediately invalidate them by saying stuff like this.
STORY OF MY L I F E
An Anxiety Post
So whether my family wants to acknowledge it or not, I freak out a lot. I’m not kicking and screaming, but I’m breaking down.
However, when this happens, I’ve found a few tricks that help -
•Scribble a circle. You know how when you fill in a dot on a multiple choice test? Make a circle, start at the center, and slowly fill it in.
•That ‘grounding’ trick from a previous reblog - five things you can see, four things you can touch, three things you can hear, two things you can smell, and one thing you can taste. This helps if you feel like you’ve lost control of your surroundings especially, but I do this now, just to calm down.
•MUSIC. FUCKING MUSIC. I found softer songs don’t help - something like Bastille’s VS. album works for me, but different music works for different people. Mouth along if you don’t feel comfortable singing, or are too out of breath to sing. Gives your mouth something to do, and makes your brain focus on the lyrics.
•I don’t care if you can’t draw at all, TRY. Draw a stick figure. Draw several stick figures for all I care. It gives your hands something to do, and it distracts your brain.
•If all else fails, talk to yourself. I know that sounds crazy, but if you spill out your problems to a universe that isn’t listening, it feels SO much better. Talking it out, no matter if you’re alone or not, really does help.
for the four-things-you-can-touch, it works better for me if it’s something cold, since it’s a stark contrast to my body temperature. It’d probably work just as well if it were a super hot thing, but I don’t want to burn myself.
This definitely won’t work for everyone, but it does for me - even though I use it mostly when I’m dissociating rather than breaking down.

life is worth it even just for small things. its okay to be alive for puppies. its okay to be alive for your favorite cereal. whatever is keeping you here is plenty and its valid
So yesterday I was hoarding sheet music and I found this lovable fella named Cameron made a selection of violin music and published it in ~1850
some of the pages are torn or missing which is a pity but nonetheless this selection has some gems
here’s a compilation:

trans people shouldn’t have to look cis to be respected
or sound cis.
see this is what bugs me about gender. Why are there requirements other than your gender to be that gender?
if someone’s gender is female, she’s a woman, no matter what she looks or sounds like or does, why would she need to wear dresses or not have a beard or whatever?
literally the only thing that changes from gender to gender is the pronouns - everything else is irrelevant to that. It’s all the person’s personality.
i absolutely live for tight hugs i hate that feather-touch barely brushing side hug i want you to break my fucking spine or else u dont love me
We need more women like this
My reblog was pretty aggressive on this one
The Rock
people ask why I cape so hard for him
this is why
i like how the rock asks the women he cares about if they’re happy. ive seen a story like this about his mom where he asked if she was happy. it’s just a nice thing to ask a woman, i think.
You will literally never have a better reason to cry
I just finished babysitting my friend’s children, and she has most definitely mastered the no spanking/alternative discipline route. I always talk about taking it because I don’t believe in abusing children, but I’ve never personally seen it in action by a Black parent. Her children are 2 and 5 and they are the kindest, nicest toddlers I’ve ever met. They listen to her because she’s their mom and they automatically recognize she’s important and she gives them what they want (love and affection and rewards). In return they like to clean for her and give her artwork and cuddles all of the time.
To get them to listen to her, she makes sure to listen to them and what they’ve got to say instead of telling them to shut up all the time. The 5 year old asked her a few months ago why you can’t eat food that was on the floor after picking up food on the floor, and she explained it calmly and clearly. He asked 4 other questions after that and she answered all of them. He was satisfied and happy with the answers, and ever since he hasn’t done those things. She lets them gush and gush about Hot Wheels or Team Umizoomi and engages with them and counts with them and everything, so they never feel alone or neglected enough to not want to obey.
My friend lets them make mistakes by themselves on the rare chance they don’t listen so they can learn from them and let that be punishment enough. For example, the younger one we’ve been telling not to go near the dog cage because he doesn’t like dogs. He went near it a while ago, got his hand licked, freaked out, and hasn’t been anywhere near it since. The board on the wall that she uses has a column for each boy horizontally, and vertically are all the traits she wants them to have, like being nice, listening to her and their teachers, eating their food, cleaning up, having manners, etc. They get a sticker whenever they do it for the day, and they lose all their stickers when they break a habit. That’s enough punishment for them, so they don’t break it.
When they wake up, it’s cleanup time, or bedtime, she plays what she calls “musical habits”. She puts on a playlist of their favorite songs (it’s like 20-25 minutes) that make them feel motivated, and they should be finished getting ready or cleaning by the time the last song is over. If they’re not, they get a toy from their toy bin taken away or an Oreo from their snack bag taken out (aka eaten by her). But she hasn’t ever gotten to that because they always finish. They don’t even like hearing the consequences lol. And I just wanted to say I really enjoyed seeing good parenting by a Black woman that wasn’t abusive or harmful to the child’s development, it gave me inspiration and hope. Just had to talk about it somewhere.
THIS IS GOOD WHOLESOME PARENTING
This gives me hope. I’m gonna try to emulate this if I have kids

Fun fact, hammering metal spikes into tree trunks is a federal crime in the US because environmental activists used to do it in the 80s to fuck up chainsaws and logging equipment.
So you should never use this effective strategy for disrupting logging operations because it is illegal.
Here’s a link describing exactly how to do it, so you can make sure not to by accident.
