I'm the local scholarly hermit. I picked this username because my actual name sounds made-up.
I'm an amateur artist who spends an inordinate amount of time stalking dead people. When I'm not rambling about archeology or historical fashion, I might post art and whatnot pertaining to my many Elder Scrolls ocs.

These were produced from around the time of the Roman annexation of Egypt in the late 1st century BC to around the Christianization of the Roman Empire in the 3rd century CE.
They were a continuation of the Egyptian tradition of funerary masks but rather than sculpting them and making them of precious metals, they began painting these lifelike portraits.
It’s hotly debated whether this is an example of Greco-Roman realist style imposed on their subjects, or a home grown Egyptian development of their own ancient tradition. Those who say it’s more Egyptian than Roman point out that there’s no surviving paintings in the rest of the Roman Empire that were this realistic. Those who say it’s more Roman than Egyptian point out the arid climate left these portraits intact, and beleive the others in the rest of the empire were lost.
Personally I think you can call them Egyptian because these people, whether of Roman or ancient Egyptian descent, are still the ancestors of the modern Egyptians today.
Despite the realism you can see a slight exaggeration of the eyes, smoothing of the skin and inclusion of certain important objects around the subject’s head. It’s a pattern that would get more and more pronounced until it became the style of Byzantine iconography in the Orthodox Christian Church

Doves - The representation of peace, love + purity which is very fitting for Irene considering her role as Tamriel's hero and her love for the world & humanity. Also, it matches the meaning on her name too <3
Albino Peacock & Ravens - The former symbolises pride, vanity, and arrogance, which is obvious for someone like Mannimarco. They are pretty, and he is too :) As for the latter, it makes perfect sense that the God of Necromancy and Undeath can also be compared to a raven.
Since they are soulmates (despite their differences + roles as Hero and Villain), the birds that represent eternal love & lifelong devotion are the first thing that comes to mind when I think of these two. With Irene as a white swan, and Mannimarco as a black swan.
Lovebird - I mostly went for aesthetics when it came to picking a bird for Sereia, therefore I picked a Lovebird for her! specifically in a pastel blue colour that matches her eyes. And not to mention they're both very cute + playful in general :3
Red-crowned Crane - Ely is someone who values Wisdom & intelligence, so considering her lifelong commitment to gaining knowledge, her ambitions in the fields of alchemy and magic, and her eventual pursuit to immortality/eternal youth (via alchemy), I think a Crane would suit her the best as they symbolise both wisdom + Longevity.
Swan - A swan, which represents grace, beauty (both inner and outer), and love, is a perfect fit for Nourin because she is quite the romantic and loves beauty in all of its forms. In addition to her work as a seamstress who enjoys making and wearing beautiful garments.
Hummingbird - I like to consider Fae as someone who is both joyful, and energetic which is something that translates into her writing, so for her I went for a hummingbird, whose symbolism matches her personality/character very well :D

some hyper famous artists like Van Gogh transcend overratedness and become underrated because they're so normalized. Like I'll look at a van Gogh and I'm like wait this really is amazing you guys don't get it

On a similar theme to a previous line art I've done, but like more of the hat... I still gotta add things like background details and all his swords.
Are my inspirations for Joshi's background obvious yet?

Or I thought Joshi needed a hat since he's all in the snow. There's a larger winter Ashkhan-wear fit that I wanna design. Thought a börik would be fitting and had to continue that vibe with the patented emotional support cig.
Solstheim is cold, Skyrim is cold, he should probably have decent winter clothing.
Shout-out to characters who don't plan to survive their stories! Heroes who think they can only atone for their failures through sacrifice, villains who don't think they deserve to live in the world they're trying to create. Gimme that passive suicidality baby, mm-mm, delicious.
